£9 Million For Reid? Everton Or The Mail Are Having A Girraffe!

In a laughingly 'fishing' article from those bastions of truth the Daily Mail, Everton are weighing up a £9million move for West Ham defender Winston Reid. Apparently Manager Ronald Koeman wants cover for the injured Ramiro Funes Mori and is considering a bid for the 29 year old, who has just returned to training following surgery on a long standing shin injury. This is lazy journalism at it's most inept, why on earth would West Ham United want to part company with a player under contract until 2021 to a direct premier league rival for such a derisory sum, especially given the obscene prices being quoted for 'quality' players?, and Reid is not only definitely quality but also has years of top flight experience!
"Reid went with the West Ham squad to Austria earlier this month and hopes to be fully fit inside two weeks. Everton are considering a bid for West Ham's Winston Reid, He extended his contract until 2021 but West Ham may be willing to listen to offers as they look to redress their summer spending".

Now come on, what a ridiculous statement, was it borne from some dyed in the wool Evertonian who woke up with his delusional transfer wish glasses on? Since they flogged 'Larkman' they have been given similar press coverage to the time when Hammers were 'biscuit barreled' by 'Eggy' and the Icelandics. The £9 Million proposed valuation was very Bernard Mathews in that it was plucked in the dark! Perhaps the writer missed out a zero from the equation?
Really, Reidy is a Hammers stalwart who the club 'romanced' to get his long term deal over the line when to all intents and purposes it looked like he was going to become a Gooner, there is no way on this planet that a club like West Ham that is hoping to build for the future would contemplate losing their 'Kiwi Warrior', and the Brave New World of transfer valuations means that Winston is not for turning, not unless the Toffees are willing to come unstuck from their ridiculously low offer. How much are they asking for Barkley? - Ed

They don't just make up stories! They are the mouthpiece of the silver surfers! They would never let truth get in the way of a good story.

Even if Winston wanted away from West Ham, selling to Everton goes against the ethos of the Porn Twins, we would be selling to our nearest competitor. Whether we like it or not, we play for "Best of the rest", that means who comes 7th and Everton are the team to beat. Now maybe another club this season will push into top six and that could be us or the Toffee's. The space will I hope be made by Spudz, no new signings yet in this window and playing at Wembley.... I think they could be in for a difficult time or is that just wishful thinking? COYI's!!!!!

I cant think of a single reason why our established players would want to leave ,there hasn't been this much potential at west ham in years
