Let's hope all the hammer divits have been filled in. It would be just our luck if Carroll turns his ankle on a discarded discus!

Now don't blow it. This is the performance that us fans have been waiting for. Antonio is a monster and the best player on the pitch.

Even though he scored, I still think he should not have come on, the only player that worried me was Fonte, he looked very unsure, the rest were excellent even though it was ONLY Huddersfield

Pressure off Slaven for the moment and a clean sheet for Hart. Makes you look forward to the next game when The elbow man will be back so hopefully we can build on this result. Huddersfield have been playing well so to keep them out gives the boys confidence and gives us fans something to hope for.

Good performance, just what we needed. Got lucky with the first goal, but a second was deserved! Bit worrying though, having only 3 shots out of 18 on target! Think we miss Lanzini in this respect and his anility to carry the ball into the danger zone. Bilics subsitiution for Ayew paid off but I would of loved to see Masuaku given a chance on the other wing as he could of added another threat to accompany the massively impressive Michail Antonio

Decent graft from WH, against a team that should have had good confidence coming in. The goals had a certain amount of luck in them, but the result was deserved. Where do things go from here? Was it a good performance from us or a poor performance from Huddersfield? Does it matter? Will this lift West Ham enough that they finally lift their game? Arnautovic will now be back. How will we fare against Tottenham? A good 3 points, but is this the eye of the storm or is it the turning point? Let's hope the latter.

God the beer in the pub is strong! I could have sworn we played more like a team today! 1-1 wasn't it? I know they scored one. Better performance but we lacked creativity. Scrappy goal and a wicked deflection. Something to start from. Huddersfield weren't at all impressive and didn't test us. But a nice clean sheet. As for kouyate how did he stay on the pitch! No technique at all! Jesus how anyone thinks this man is a midfielder is anyone's guess.

Definitely played more like a team, and that will be KEY to further victories. (That said, Antonio was head and shoulders above the rest.) You're right that Kouyate lacks technique. He's got decent pace and at his best can cause problems coming into the box on the counter, but he can get caught out of position and does not make great passes. Carvalho would have changed our whole look, but that's down to Sullivan.

Yes, I agree with you -- and look what a difference it makes: clean sheet vs. shipping goals (two he was responsible for in the first match). What the players need to see is that they have to graft EVERY TIME.

How we see things differently, I thought he looked unsure and a little nervous.

I thought Zabaletta had a very sound game - experience , clever play and above all leadership. Great result - but looking at the squad in the programme we have only 21 outfield players. With 18 required for each match that doesn't 't leave a lot of headroom for injuries and suspensions. Should give some chances for the youngsters.

Still no sign of the wonder kid Haksasomethingorother wouldnt you love to no their policy on new arrivals, seems to be "oh yeah you've shown a lot of potential with your previous club your young strong and come highly recommended, your going on loan to Grimsby or Doncaster . Now you Zaza ,Nordviet you are two of the most useless fekers in world football ,you'll make you appearances in the first team against Manua "good luck

Felt a bit like first day back at school, got a newbe sat next to me this season, nice guy and lovely to see a few familiar faces, we are a family! Not the greatest of games but just great to get off the mark. Chating with Terrier fans on the tube home, they thought we we the better team, hammers fans generally felt we were there for the taking but that they just lacked belief. I think they will struggle this season and for us... a fit Andy Carroll makes all the difference. Wonderful strike by Judas Junior, unlucky to hit the bar and Joe was well beaten, delighted for him to get a clean sheet. IMO Zab was Motm, thought he had a great game.

Antonio, carroll & zab were very good, also ginge & winnie were solid at the back...but it could have been so different if we didnt get the goals late in the game, the crowd were starting to get on the players backs & in the end it was a welcome 3 points....huddersfield were poor imo, even though they have had a great start they will struggle this season...their fans were amazing though,2 nil down & they were still singing their hearts out...contrast that to where we were sitting - ive never seen so many people eating popcorn, drinking coffee & generally not interested in being there!!It seems to me showing passion is not required at the L.S....there were pockets of fans "TRYING" to get some chants going, but it just isnt going to happen!!" 2 nil up & most of the stand head for the exits, god knows what it will be like when we get a tonking!!

Me and my boys were at the game, we relocated our seats this season so we are now at the opposite end of the stadium, we used to be next to the away fans.
Well i can tell you where we have moved to was like a f******g funeral! No one was bothered, and the atmosphere was vitriolic. Fans seemed more intent to get on their own players backs rather than giving support.
We also spent a lot of time being negative about Obiang , and then he scored! Then when Ayew replaced chic pea everyone booed, and then he scores!
Perhaps the players are only now adjusting to the new 'corporate' fan base. Zabaleto was exposed a few times for pace, Fonte put in a shift and Winnie was immense.
Strangely there has been little or no mention of Mark Noble's omission from the squad due to a 'minor' injury (he played with a hernia against tottenham last year!)

I looked round me,then looked at the huddersfield support,& thought WTF has happened to this great club...i reckon if the first flukey goal hadnt have gone in the atmosphere would have turned quite nasty...you have the new fans who have no interest or passion & you have the die-hards who mostly imo dont particularly like the place!
On a bright note the toilets are clean & you get a decent beer in the podium bar!!

My take on the game and what's been mentioned on here. Firstly I always loved the atmosphere at u.p when the crowd are up, having said that doubling the attendance is always likely to change the crowd behaviour it's just too much of a jump in numbers. Fonte? I'd say he did alright for us, I never worried about him, and he definately looks better in a 3. Having said that non of our back 3 were under threat for a change. Big mick was great in the first half lost his way in the second a bit. I'd give the second half to obiang along with the man o t match. Carroll did very little, Huddersfield offered very little of a threat and I never felt like we would score till the deflection. We never troubled their keeper tbh. Not a great performance but certainly on the right track. Carroll and kouyate should have been hooked. Bilic gets his luck when he most needs it. Why sub Hernandez? And why play him on the left in the first place, you take away his threat, he should be playing closer/narrower to the other striker. Sakho should have come on earlier and play as a 2 upfront with Hernandez. Carroll won very little in the air and wasn't needed to hold the ball up as we were always on the front foot. Bilic still playing players out of position and getting the wrong players subbed. Opinions eh?

Did you watch the same game as me? Carroll was immense and scared the life out of the Huddersfield defence. His hold up play was excellent and he was strong and aggressive throughout.Either Antonio or Zaballetta was man of the match but Reid Collins and Fonte were also very good.Credit to Ayew, booed when he came on laid on the pass for Obiang and scored the second with a poachers goal.Overall a very good performance from our boys.

I thought carroll had a good game, where normally it takes him a good few matches to get up to speed,he gave 100% imo...sakho did nothing when he came on & chick pea (albeit playing on the wing)had a quiet game...yes there was booing when ayew came on,but whatever people think of him he has a knack of getting in the box for the tap-ins!!
I appreciate the crowd has doubled in size, but surely watching your favourite team can evoke some passion??

agree with that, plus Obiang wa the worst player on the pitch IMO. Im on the half way line near the dugout and its quite lively and loads of banter. I thin that the problem is those quiet fans have always been there, they just used to sit in section of UP away from the noisy boys. I've said it load of times before but they need to make one whole stand a singing stand and advertise it as that. The quieter fans, tourists and corps can occupy the sides. Away fans will always be noisier, we do it week in week out everywhere we go

Sat pretty much everywhere at UP & there were sections where it was quiet.Ive always preferred the standing areas where theres banter & its more lively...i suppose being a member im restricted to the only available tickets being in the quieter parts..

Ha ha well we will all have to agree on differing opinions then. Carroll agreed looked better than he normally does on his first game back but I really can't see how he worried their defence? I mean he never once troubled the keeper at all! Hold up play? I can't see why we would need hold up play when we spent pretty much all the game going forward. Hold up play is only that effective when you counter. Obiang worst player! Are you kidding me kouyate looked like he had never played the game before and has been ripped a new one on Twitter. Everything he did was poor. Obiang was given motm in a couple of rags too not that it means much. Someone like obiang won't stand out due to where and how he plays. He did a hell of a lot of breakdown work on Huddersfield. Stooping them getting to our back 3. I suppose it depends on if you see the defensive side or attacking side. Sakho Didn't do much? Of course he didn't he wasn't given the time!

I reckon Noble is goin to find it very hard to get back in ,was Ant playing a more central role ?seemed to be on a different planet to the rest of them ,outstanding

I agree that the funeral atmosphere and the early departures is shameful. And I don't think that the plastic attitude should be encouraged, BUT maybe this is a reason why the chairman should have spent on Carvalho and Gomes and our whole season would be looking different right now. The point is that if you're going to fill the LS with plastic fans, you've got to give them something to cheer about, week in and week out, and the last time I heard, the prawn sandwiches the the LS aren't that great yet. One other thing: there were times at the Boleyn where it was like a funeral too, when WH were in a bad run of form. The crucial thing now is for the chairmen to build a team that the LS deserves.

Probably really gonna be a struggle to stop people leaving early, as for atmosphere if the team give us more to cheer on the pitch the noise will improve more. So far they are expecting the fans to carry them whereas most fans react to what is going on o. The pitch.
