Adrian Must Be The Keeper For Derby Clash With Chelsea

Barring catastrophic injury the vast majority of West Ham fans know exactly who should be in goal for the weekend London derby against Chelsea at the London Stadium, the man who performed so well against Manchester City Adrian San Miguel!

No one gave Hammers' a prayer ahead of the match at the Etihad, but despite relentless pressure Adrian stood firm, admittedly he eventually conceded two goals to perhaps the best team in Europe but what would the score have been if England's current number one goalkeeper Joe Hart had been eligible to play against his parent club? Indeed West Ham nearly pulled off what would have been the biggest result of the season in the Premier League had they managed to hold on to the lead given to them courtesy of Manchester City's Achilles heal, the set piece. A short corner swept in by Aaron Cresswell was headed firmly in to the goal by Angelo Ogbonna much to the consternation of the home crowd and their animated manager. He must have given them quite a Pep Talk at half time because they came out guns blazing and few doubted that they would go on to equalise and more than likely win by a hat full of goals. Before the match you could have got 75 - 1 on City to win by five goals, the odds with most betting sites had West Ham at 80 - 1 to win 1 - 0, alas it wasn't to be, but the spirit and determination that the players selected by new Hammers manager David Moyes showed bodes well for the future. There will be a few 'senior' players who have seen the writing on the wall as it is obvious that Moyes' style of play demands maximum physical effort, a complete juxtaposition of the regime players had got used to under Slaven Billic, younger players like Rice, Fernandez and Martinez will feature more and more, and what's the betting that he recalls Reece Oxford back from his loan spell in Germany?

David Moyes has been around the managerial block long enough to know the value of the '12th' man, and what better way to get the crowd at the London Stadium on board than to include the immensely popular Adrian in goal? It is not as if he is going to do a whole lot worse than the man he replaced for the City game, Hart has let in an average of over two goals for every game, a bundle more than Adrian has conceded and it's not just conceding goals that is Hart's problem. The crowd at the London Stadium have been quick to target Joe Hart, so that every time there is a back pass there is more negativity than there would usually be, this of course influences the players' decisions so that on the occasions where a back pass is full justified they may not make the correct decision in order to appease the crowd. Manchester City made plenty of back passes in the closing stages of the match, incidentally they also played for the corner flag for the last four minutes, a sequence of play that those incredibly biased and annoying Sky commentators conveniently conspired to have collective amnesia about!

Adrian has to start and I suspect Hart will now be a bit part player in the cup and barring an Adrian injury. We will not be buying him in the future and furthermore I predict due to lack of game time he will no longer be England's number 1. Pep Guardiola was lambasted for not playing or seeing him in his plans. But he has been truly vindicated. Hart is a liability his distribution is awful and his positioning woeful in the main. How a career can topple down around you is a glowing testimony to how crap Hart truly is.....

Is west ham he knows us he's a bit crazy but a fan fav and sullivan put his foot in it by bringing Hart in...yes of course Adrian is like any keeper prone to errors but he connects with the fans something Hart never can or would do

Adrian has patiently waited in the wings, hasnt thrown his toys out & more importantly is a better all round keeper than the head & shoulders boy!!

It's goals we are lacking and even though we seem to be putting a lot more effort into the game the prospect of playing Chelsea does not bode well for us as we keep failing in front of goal and collapsing at the back!
Moyes had a terrible record at Sunderland and Real Sociedad could not get rid of him fast enough. His tactics are pretty basic and it may not be enough to see us stay up.
I can not see us scoring any more than 1 goal on Saturday and Chelsea putting us under a lot of pressure. Adrian will have his work cut out to keep us in the game imo.
I really think we have to face the fact that we will probably get relegated again as the same old transfer window sees no one of any substance coming to West Ham and we have to make do with the strikers and defenders we have.

I mean bar the palace game Hart has basically been conceding every shot, and i can name 5 or 6 goals that he should saved minimum so at least with Adrian we can expect some saves

I said at the time it was ludicrous to loan a first keeper. It p1ssed our 2 other keepers off and he wasn't really any better than Adrian. If he plays well we lose him to a better team, if he plays ok what was the point? And if he plays crap we struggle. I also think our own players react better to Adrian than the do to hart or used to do to Randolph. Another Sullivan cock up for me. How does this man expect to run a club with judgement that bad? We could easily end up needing 2 keepers at the end of the season.

Even when Randolph was there, Adrian waited for his moment, and when he was summoned, he always responded with good performance
