Loan Move For Pereira In Jeopardy Due To League Parity

West Ham have been considering a January loan move for Manchester United midfielder Andreas Pereira, the midfielder has been used sparingly by Jose Mourinho this season and has rejected the club's offer of a new three-year contract. United do have an option to extend it by a further year, which they are set to take up although apparently only to avoid losing him on a free transfer. The 22-year-old has made just six appearances, four in the Barclays Premier League and two in the Champions League, his relationship with manager Mourinho is said to be fractious at best and is the main reason he wants to leave.

The planned loan move was at a fairly advanced stage, unfortunately it appears that the Manchester United hierarchy have developed cold feet over the arrangement due to Hammers recent impressive run of form that has seen them race up the Barclays Premier League table. Not loaning or selling to a direct rival is common business practice, what is uncommon is that Hammers are so close to Manchester United that they may not even be direct rivals by the end of the season, the boot is on the other foot!

We'll have more on this and other transfer issues later, but for now it is time for long suffering Hammers fans to enjoy the moment. - Ed

I still think Tom Kearney of Fulham is the best long term successor to Mark Noble - he also seems to have got over his injuries that have plagued the start to this season. They turned down 20 million in the summer - time to go in again for him???

Does look a decent player and very much on moyes radar last year but maybe its because fulham are struggling but he does not look half the player he was last time or maybe he is just a very good championship player who cannot quite cut it at top level...i would of taken Maddison form norwich especially after seeing his display against chelski in the cup but leicester jumped in and have got IMO a very good player
