West Ham United have confirmed the signing of Emmanuel Emenike, after lengthy negotiations, on loan until the end of the season. The 28 year old Nigerian ex international arrives from Fenerbahce having been on loan at Al Ain in the United Arab Emirates league, Slaven Billic knows the player well and will be able to run the rule over him during the rest of the season to see if the club want to make the move permanent for a fee of around £8 Million. Eminike's arrival will almost certainly see the departure of Nikica Jelovic from the Boleyn to a lucrative deal in the Chinese League, West Ham may even receive the £3 Million they paid for him in the summer! - Ed

Would be very good business if we get the money back for Jelovic... Welcome to the frontline Emenike, looking forward to seeing Emmanuel in Space... lets hope he doesn't get stage fright up front and blow his load!

Yes he looks a very good lively player who can Score Goals and Slaven knows a lot about him so I'm happy to go with that anyway as usual time will tell .. As mentioned hopefully now we can recoup all or a big majority of the Cash we initially paid out for Jelovic .. I personally think in this Window we have done 2 good deals in Byram and Eminike .. So in the meantime "imo" it's a big well done to the Manager and Owners ! .. It's a pity though we/they took such a Big Hit on Jarvis but I suppose that's the way it goes in Football these days ?

Don't get me wrong I trust Slav and Dave x2 but let's not get carried away with emenike. Something doesn't ring right for me. Firstly we have no confirmation on his work permit yet, secondly there are questions over his age and he does IMO look in his 30s and finally, think it was one of the sullivans said he was our fourth choice striker. That means he is a fill in. He also doesn't like the crowd on his back and twice asked to be subbed in Turkey because of it. He is also rumoured to think there is a voodoo curse on him that he has tried to lift. Now I'm all for waiting to see before I criticise but I doubt we will be raving about him. Reading between the lines I'd say he will be about the same standard as jelavic but maybe more suited to our style. Not a player to kick us on or one to have after six months.

As mentioned I am happy to trust Slaven on this one .. But of course lets wait and see but initially having him on Loan with a Buy option is the right way to go surely ? .. In the meantime let's see if Eminike can do the talking on the Pitch !

We need someone to fill in. That's all really. I don't think we should have any significant expectations here. If he puts himself about then he might get a few chances, but I don't expect him to be any better than Jela and probably not a candle to Zarate. We can all be pleasantly surprised if that's not so. In the summer he'll be moved on, and West Ham will look for someone much more high-end (and younger). Michy is a smokescreen, though, in my opinion.
