Was a fantastic win, its typical us - been floundering in relegation, get destroyed by Brighton and then beat Spurs after going 2 goals down at Wembley! You have to give it to Ayew - he worked hard all game and was in the perfect spot for both goals... I don't want to be negative but Carroll looks like he doesn't belong on a football pitch at all. I would of taken him off for Obiang at 3-1. One thing I really liked was seeing the Spuds temporary ground deserted of their supporters at the final whistle. How many stayed until the end? Did anyone see the bloke from our support who dived through the air to catch Nobles shirt at thr end?? Adrian would of been proud of that save - except the bloke must have landed on hard concrete instead of the more forgiving grass...

Just checking the score after turning the game off at 2 0, and goal, thought to myself I had better have a look, just find the game and bang it's 2 each. Who scores them, the guy I have been slating since he arrived. 2 3 great result enjoy it as I am sure it will be back to normal on Saturday. COYI

Nobody seems to have mentioned the fact about Ogbonna coming on what a brilliant substitution by Billic. If it was Costa or Mourinio it would have been plastered everywhere. Bilic and Noble seemed very cagey about what was said at halftime I'd have loved to be a fly on the wall. Heard a little story last night about if Martinez plays 1st team football they have to pay more money to his last club, so perhaps that's why Billic has not played him. I thought in the 1st half that Carrol looked really lazy and did not really want to be there perhaps he is due for a rest he's already played at least 5or 6 games this season. I'd put him on the bench for the palace game.

We all know that 2016 was a year when our transfer market buys were late and hasty, partly prompted by the need to have warm bodies to field in the Europa Cup. Most of those mis-signings have moved on. So 2017 should have been a significant step-up, if only in the sense that the squad had been put together with more forethought. Of course, it has left us thin in that critical role of the player(s) who link the defence to the attack and "unlock" a defensive opponent's formation - there's really only Manuel Lanzini and he has clearly not been 100% for some time. So when we go a goal down, you can see the nerves set in as the opposition lies deeper and our creative limitations become apparent. Against Brighton, Pedro Obiang - who I generally rate highly - seemed unable to move forward. In truth, the lack of imaginative running presents the player on the ball with few options. Then there's the enigma called Andy Carroll. His complete inability to grasp that referees are unmvoved by the "I didn't mean to elbow him in the face" defence. That wouldn't be so bad if he was a more effective target man. There is to much emphasis on him winning a goal-scoring header and not enough on his retaining possession and passing to colleagues. And it's not that he lacks the physical skills, he just doesn't seem to see the opportunities. Finally, there is the tragedy of Seven-Goal Sakho - an enormously talented player who doesn't seem to be able to just get in the team and play. I don't know whose fault that is, but it's a hell of a waste of a player who is a greater all-round talent than Carroll and Ayew.
