West Ham: Hart, Zabaleta, Ogbonna, Cresswell, Rice, Masuaku, Kouyate, Noble, Mario, Antonio, Arnautovic. Subs: Adrian, Hugill, Evra, Fernandes, Cullen, Pask, Diangana
Southampton: McCarthy, Soares, Stephens, Hoedt, Bertrand, Lemina, Hojbjerg, Tadic, Redmond, Austin, Gabbiadini. Subs: Forster, Yoshida, Long, Carillo, Romeu, Ward-Prowse, Boufal.
Crikey, just managed to data connect! What an atmosphere, it is amazing what a 'few' goals can do, despite losing Antonio to an injury after 6 minutes that has required him going to hospital, the team has gone balistic insane first goal from super mario and a deuce from elbows arnie despite a calf injury that needed treatment. Moyes has had to have a word with arnie about taunting sparkie on the saints bench. Expect Moyes to make an early sustitution Ug for Arnie early in 2nd half. Fernandes has been superb as has king authur and all the rest of the team. Those of an older fan base will remember being 3-0 up at half time against wimbledon before losing 4-3!

Hart's selection has gone down like a lead balloon at the LS, atmosphere very very edgy, chico has jetlag, manu will be fit for next match

From Moyes to start Hart, also not convinced by the rest of the line-up,Austin starting with his "Dodgy knees!!"

I also think it's a shocking decision to start Hart. Gotta hope somehow Moyes has them ready to play. Liverpool have done their job today already, with a heavy dose of luck and Benteke's failures. We won't keep getting chances to put distance between us and the drop. Have to do it now. COYI!

When was the last time we could say that. We stomped on their throat and they don't seem to have the stomach for it. Gotta come out second half and play the same way.

Why are the fans still protesting against the board? At least enjoy a good win, although it is still a long way to go and we have the likes of Chelsea, Arsenal, Man City and Man united to contend with. There are three other winnable matches against Stoke, West Brom and Allarbaby's Everton still to contend with. But Moyes stated that West Ham will find it more difficult to sign new quality players if the fans continue with this protest / disruptive actions on and off the field.

Why not protest against the board if your not happy with them?today it was done outside the ground & it sounded like the support today inside for the team from the fans was immense from the start...also we have leicester not westbrom,so realistically we should beat stoke, but the other games are certainly not going to be easy.As for moyes comments about quality players not coming because of protests, thats straight from the sully book of bulls*it!!Quality players wont come (at the moment) cos we are fighting relegation & we have owners who wont pay the dollar for them!!

If today is how we’re capable of playing, then why can’t it be more often???
Every player worked their socks off, apart from Hart who had sod all to do.
Special mention to Kouyate, who’s often been criticised during the season, Mario who’s looking better and better and stepped up to the plate when we lost Mickael, Arthur who did his best to go some way to make up for his ban and the one and only Marko. Credit to Moyesy as well. Now let’s approach our next game with the same attitude!!!!!!

All three goals were great in my opinion. metbobby1 is absolutely right that Kouyate deserves props from us for his part in two of the three goals. We've slated him mercilessly on here, but sometimes he comes up trumps. His picking out Mario (albeit awkwardly falling over trying to square the ball) was wonderful and selfless. Mario's shot was world class. In the second goal, you'd have forgiven Arnautovic for anguishing over the save of his brilliant header. Instead, he followed up and buried it. And Arthur's cross to Arnie was inch-perfect; even so, he volleyed it with what looked like ease, and in slow-motion shows as amazing technique at full speed. Some of the commentators said Southampton were terrible, but make no mistake: this was classy goal-scoring from the Hammers.

The fans were terrific, and Moyes and Arnautovic (among others) explicitly said so. I don't think I've ever heard such a positive atmosphere echo from the ironic London stadium. Even after seeing Hart in goals, the fans didn't cave in.

I agree with 65: the protests are separate from the matches. I don't mind seeing them continue (as a reminder to the board), as long as the matches are not interfered with. It's important that Sully should know that this season is FAR FAR below expectation, and that safety from relegation isn't the same as "problem solved". I also agree that Moyes' comments are pure Sullivan BS. If you pay them, they will come.
