Is Curbishley really any better than Pardew?Submitted by hammerhead on 20 January, 2007 - 16:56.
Not sure what he says to the players at half-time,but we always seem to fold in the 2nd half of games.
( categories: Current Season )
Pardew is Poo, he always was
Pardew is Poo, he always was and probably always will be, we only sneaked in the premiership in the play offs in 6th place, It was 2 crap seasons in the championship, 1st I will give him the club was a bit of a mess, the second we had the best squad and sneaked it, one season in the prem with adrenaline a bit of pride and a team that noone knew a lot about and a cup run, wycombe had one this year its as much luck as anything. This season he failed to add to the squad he failed to change any tactics or have any balls.
HES JUST A CRAP LEAGUE MANAGER

well everyone reading, we will soon see who is the better manager come 24th feb when curbs vs pards at the valley happens. then again at the end of the season, when what team stays up and what team goes down, or basically who finishes above who. curbs has got a lot to do at whu, just like pards, but im sure whoever the manager the west ham faithful will always be there for them. the regelation battle between 5 teams, watford, charlton, whu, wigan , sheffield utd, but with the quality we have got, i think curbs will get us out of this, and then can concerntrate on next season. irons.
Pards going was circumstantial. We had to do something coz we were heading down simple. Didn't matter who it was - manager had to go - had to try something new. No hard feelings tho infact when you look at the end result Curbs is at back at westham, Pards is at Charlton, Pards got a payout too and hammers for Champions league so win win win. We all appreciate Pards - he can come an have a beer anytime
Pardew lost the dresssing room so e ad 2 go!simple as that!curbishley is a good manager wiv a good track record n we will b fine dis season!UP DA AMMERS!
Look at what Curbs done at Chalrton, need I say no more? To turn them from a club sharing grounds (with us and Palace) playing in front of crowds as low as 3,000 to a mid-table club that gets respectable attendances of 25/26,000... That's an excellent achievement.
The board believe that Curbs is a better manager than Pards and so I respect their actions and hope that they have made the right move. Pards was desperately unlucky to lose his job after getting us out of the mess that Rodent left us in and re-built this great club after being forced to sell all of our quality players in that year we went down. However, that's football I'm afraid and reflects life in general to be honest.
Both good managers different qualitys. Pardew whilst at Reading done wonders and what Coppel has now at Reading with the youth set up etc....is mainly down to Pardew. Pardew at one point in the managers league was second to Ferguson points per game and wins. Pardew still a young manager who I feel had a lot to offer. My one argument against Pardew was he was soft sometimes. This is where Curbs kicks in. Curbs takes no crap crappy klint if your not pulling your weight he wont step around it nicey nice, he tell you straight to your face you need do this and now or expect be on that bench. Pardew tatically baffled me sometimes and himself. But curbs is no nonsense, yeh he gets it wrong at times, all managers do even the greatest. Transfer wise? I think Pardew track record is better then curbs and curbs did come under fire at Charlton for some of his buys. Pardew don't forget bought in Benayoun, Gabbidon, Collins, Konchesky, Ashton, Zamora, many more who as much as you guys may dislike these players now are all worth double what we paid now and guided us to premiership and F.A. cup final.
Curbs to me has lot prove not because I don't think he is not good enough, but because this is a new challange for him. Curbs has never had the money, curbs has always been content in keeping Charlton in the league and mid-table. With West Ham I don't think Eggart and his backer paid 85 Million plus all what else his plugged in must be well over 100 Million buy now, to be a average mid-table side. He wants us in the Champions League every season and that means top 4, that means challenging for the title. Can Curbs do it? we will all see.
I can't believe what I am reading. "Curbs isn't a Prem' manager." You're talking about a man who went to Charlton - a two bit team then and now - got them promoted to the Prem' and kept 'em there punching above thier weight for years. Now he's come to us and started turning things around here. I think you meant to say, "Pard's is not a Prem' manager" I do like Pards but his signings tell you all you need to know.
Steve.C. Barking Mad.
WHU Till I Die
QUASHIE WAS NOT A WASTE OF MONEY HE PLAYED UNREAL YETERDAY AND SO DID NRC DEY CONTROLLED MIDFILED WE R STAYING UP
I think pardew will be a better manager and curbs isnt a prem manager from what Ive seen so far, quashie, complete waste of money, has heart but no skill , today he seemed to like back passing and put a threat on us each time he did, hope bowyer comes back soon, even he is better, and the only reason i say bowyer is , is that it's quite obvious to all of us now, curbs is never
going to play mascherano for what ever reason, and in my view that is reason enough to say we need another manager as soon as possible, either redknapp or scolari
you tell me, for a team to be 2-0 up and draw 2-2 to play Yossi on the wing when he now can play him in the middle? what did he ever win at charlton apart from survival? sorry Curbs still has alot to prove, and so far Im not impressed
players are players...
curbs is a manager
don't forget it
no our problem is always last 5 min of first half and last 5 min of second hald we always concede then.
i never doubted pardew!! it's the players.. :|
