Download Firefox, it is a far superior browser, you can add all your favourites that you have in your IE settings and store them as bookmarks (same function different title) you will have no problems with the site opening properly and you don't have to put up with the rubbish pop ups that microsoft allow through.. www.mozilla.org/download.html Happy browsing!. use mozilla firefox. type it in google. download it. its ya internet basically jus not called internet explorer.
yer it takes the piss !
have never had any trouble at all except adware popping up when using IE which stopped when I changed to Firefox. My ISP's service is quality if not the cheapest; not sure if this is at all a variable.
Who's this Mozilla Firefox, he ain't another argy is he? COYI
Yep ... does my nut in!
Ed, I like the revamped site that keeps the nuisance posts of, but I wish it was more accessible as it is hit and miss if it loads. Also I think new comments should start at the bottom not the top of the page so that a string of banter can be formed and followed as most users tend to read the first few posts as seen on their screen. Also can I suggest you remove "CURRENT SEASON" from the list of Forums during the close season and re-name it "NEW SEASON" as users are divided between this and "RUMOURS" and when the season restarts go back to CURRENT SEASON.
yes it happens all the time on this site but never on any other site i look at. so annoying.
like some of the other lads, ive downloaded Mozilla Firefox and no more problems.
my main problem is that this does not happen on any other site and only happens 50% of the time, its pot luck whether site will work or not
cheerz lads, pretty lame on coms thou so dont really know what all u guys are talkin about lol got tickets for england v germany though which very pleased about
I was having trouble with the white page but since I've started using Mozilla Firefox (as Phil mentioned) it has worked beautifully. A much better and faster search engine altogether.
Just done that myself Steve because i was fed up not being able to get on this site. But it is just me or does the text cause eye strain? And what is that security warning that keeps coming up about sending information over an unencrypted line? Starting to piss me off already!
We have been checking the server and monitoring this website for quite some time now. I can assure all fellow West Ham Fans that the site is enjoying top performance and support from a highly skilled technical team which includes experienced Linux administrators and database specialists.
We have worked hard to bring the server to this level of performance and I can assure everyone here that the people behind the technical aspects have many years of experience working on similar systems on a Unix platform.
We strongly believe that the choice of server and software technologies used by this website is the most proven solution, even though for security reasons I can not disclose further details. This choice has been made while taking into consideration the latest technologies available, the proven technologies used by other major websites (this IS a major website capable of serving hundreds of thousands of West Ham Fans each day - if not millions).
Furthermore, the technical team behind this site (http://www.artzweb.net/) are constantly on the lookout for the latest technological advancements to enhance the way each visitor experiences the site.
So I am not going to go on further about how great we feel the network is.
Generally the problems some of our users face are 99% caused by ISP issues. It is not possible for the problem to be happening on some users while others can see the site fine and the fault to be on the server's end.
One other issue is with the advertisements (which help pay off the bills for the hosting which come down to a 4 figure sum each month and every month). The banners you see around here are hosted on servers residing in third-party networks. Now if your ISP has an issue with a faulty gateway or connection to the Internet, the ad may not be loading, thus causing the rest of the site not to load (some are complaining that they can only see the top logo and banner of the site and then nothing else loads).
When this is the case, your browser will keep trying to load that banner, by connecting to the advertiser's server for as long as the timeout settings tell it to keep looking. So the site won't load until either that timeout is reached or until the advert loads.
Concluding my technical evaluation of the site, there could be a million things that could go wrong outside the field of our responsibility. After running several tests on the site and the database server itself, we are confident that the current state of the site is perfect.
On the same network we have several other "mission-critical" websites which even 5 minutes of being down translate into a big financial loss for the customer in question. We have several such websites on the same network and West Ham Fans is getting the same level of attention. We've had many success stories on this network and West Ham Fans is one of them.
You can always drop me a line about any problems you have by emailing pavlos @ artzweb . net (remove the gaps)
Best regards and may the new season bring West Ham back at the top of the table.
nev is having problems with "cyber attack" until he sorts that out ....download mozillza fire fox internet explorer...i use it for this site and never have any problems where ie only shows the top of the page....
Yes i get this almost all the time, but if you leave it, it will eventually load the rest of the page. I go off and look at other sites while im waiting
