What's happening with Bobby Zamora?Submitted by johnj on 28 December, 2007 - 10:02.
Does anyone know what's happening with Bobby Z? I've checked other sites (http://www.peakfootball.com/the-treatment-room#westham and he's no longer showing as being injured.
Recently Curbs made it clear he's not for sale, so where are you Bobby?

Im sure we will keep Zamora, in my opinion he is third choice striker behind Bellamy and Ashton...
He can win the ball in the air, get good flick ons, and hold up the ball when needed, granted he has a poor first touch, wastes easy chances, and hates heading the ball, but he's a legend, and more than any other player, he scores the IMPORTANT goals!
Whenever we NEED a goal you can rely on the Z-man, in games we're winning 3-0 forget it, but the really important games he produces the goods, and thats what counts, also he is claret and blue, through and through!
Well, I heard that Curbs mentioned that Zamora is a part of his future plans. I for one, would not want Zamora to go at all. I think he played a bigger role than Tevez last year. He was our top scorer, and assisted many of Tevez's goals. He's got a big future at the club, and he's only 26. Put Camara away, and bring back the Z-Man, Camara is 30, and he's on loan, and hasn't done more than two reserve goals an assist. Petition to keep Zamora, anyone?
I hope he doesn't go. I'm not even his biggest fan and I hope he doesn't go. I think he is extremely overrated by the fans at this club as he will miss 10 chances and score one. He will score a cracker and miss 3 sitters. But despite all this, he tries so hard. When he is dropped, he doesn't complain and plugs away until his next chance comes up and he loves the club. How many replacement forwards would be willing to do that? Keep him Curbs. He seems to be trying harder than you are. Phippsy
Phippsy how right you are, we owe him a debt of gratitude, but in todays dog-eat-dog footballing world it can be so brutal. Again I would agree that if our helmsman can't get him to perform how will he look if Keane does and he comes back to slap us round the chops?
According to today's Daily Express (Dec7th), West Ham United striker Bobby Zamora is a January target of Celtic, Rangers and Sunderland. Zamora has apparently been told by Hammers boss Alan Curbishley that he can leave the club in January.
Zamora has played since January 2004 for the Londoners and is apparently unhappy and in search for a move. It is reported that any club who wants to sign him will have to cough up £2.5 million for the former S***s striker.
I personally think Zamora will chose Sunderland over either of the Old Firm clubs. Zamora has always stated his ambition to succeed in the Premier League and with Kenwyne Jones the only striker performing at Sunderland at the moment, I'm sure Roy Keane will want to bring in the 26-year old.
I did think he was still injured John. Maybe not yet up to full fitness. I'd rather have him on one leg than Camara who is woeful.
