Cahill Next On Hammers Shopping List

Submitted by Neville Nixon on 30 May, 2007 - 19:53.
Having virtually secured the signing of Scott Parker from Newcastle in a deal that will eventually be worth £9 Million, West Ham have moved quickly to try to secure the services of Everton's Tim Cahill, another Australian International to join Lucas Neill at the Boleyn. Reports that Mark 'the duke' Viduka is another Hammers target are however way off the mark if you will excuse the pun. Signing an ageing striker does not fit into the current ethos of signing players who are at their prime or approaching it, Viduka has definitely seen better days and would represent a backward step. Continuing with the OZ connection, our correspondent over there has been staying in the same hotel as the Socceroos and thinks that Lucas Neill has been chatting to Harry Kewell about how exciting things are going to be next season. Now Hammers fans are fiercely loyal to the club and could fear either a team full of Aussies and Taffs or a team full of ex-Charlton might detract from the club's shared identity, but then what 'shared identity' did the players who started the season have other than queueing up at Jack Barclays to buy their Bentleys?

Defoe is on his way . Its a funny old game innit?? So the fans better get used to singing his name out loud again . Think he is gonna cost us about £8mills. but alongside Ashton he will be dynamic and a good replacement for Carlos.

Where is your source for the Cahill story? Use your loaf of bread... Everton to West Ham is a downhill move. You'll be back in the Championship before you know it anyway, you pie and mash eating tramps.

I think we should embrace the politically correct multi- cultural aspirations of our new West Ham United.A team of players from diverse backgrounds and cultures which can be inclusive to all, thereby reflecting the make up of our supporters and our community. Know wot I mean geezers??? We cant in this day and age be merely a team from East London. Those days are gone so lets forget all the talk of old time hammer traditions.

I heard that parker will become our highest paid player therefore he will be getting 75k+,i think that is much more than he should be getting if were paying adverage players this i donno what we would pay joe cole or someone like that 300k a week,i just dont think its right how can we go foward doing deals like this is desperation.think curbz eyes are bigger than his brain at right now.west ham top 8 next season were going 2 do what are potental showed we were going 2 do last season.
Submitted by Anonymous on 2 June, 2007 - 11:14.
£75k a week for Parker is a crap deal for us. He will probably play 4 outstanding games next season and they will be against relegation strugglers . When it comes to him playing against top notch teams like the Fab Five, Super Six,or Magnificent Seven, then we will see him struggle to rise above his mediocrity.
Submitted by Denbighammer on 1 June, 2007 - 21:22.
I thought Curbs was on hols? In this day and age, the manager says "I want so-un-so" and the club goes out and tries to do a deal. It's unlikely that Curbs will set the wage he's gonna get. Also, for years we moaned that West Ham never spent money, now we are actually shelling out, it's too much. There's no pleasing some people.

Morning gents, A Blue tint on your cahill roomer, This may well have some legs to it. Fact is Moyes would like to play 4-4-2 & Mr Cahill is not capable of playing in the middle of a 4-4-2. Plus he's good at one thing which is arriving in the box and scoring goals, this is a massive plus but the guy cant play football. I would say if we get offered £10m plus he'll be off. Many blues would rather see the quality of manny fernandes for the same price. Young quality and potentially a world class player. As for tim a good premiership player now 28 and is not going to get any better. Question is who would you choose. Manuel Everytime.
Submitted by Anonymous on 1 June, 2007 - 03:34.
Ever since Viduka was at Celtic, he has been an under rated striker. With a good midfield, he scores goals FACT! Look at his record and what he has just done at Borough this year. Cahill a Quality player no doubt. Australian players put in the effort and compete hard.Isnt that what we want at West Ham? (See Ya NRC you twat!). Look at what they did in the world cup. Hary Kewell as long as he is not hamstrung (almost never) would have to be worth a go.
Submitted by Anonymous on 1 June, 2007 - 00:22.
straight swap for NRC? you havin a laugh cahill is worth 3 of him, and west ham are not a midtable team ffs you all on crack? they should be playin in the championship next year your very very lucky and i cant really see you finishing in the top half next season tbh.

Cahll is class, i would definitely welcome this signing, i rate him higher than parker...cahill/noble iwth parker behind them is a great midfield.

If we really mean business this year AND Joe Cole is the real hammers fan we think he is...... Come on Eggert show us some real ambition.
Submitted by Anonymous on 1 June, 2007 - 16:25.
JOE COLE IS A CHELSEA FAN, EVER SINCE HE WAS A KID. HE HAS SAID SO ON MANY OCCASIONS.

so were has this story about us being after Pato come from????? I dont believe anything on here until someone proves it and I havent seen any mention of us being after this guy
Submitted by Anonymous on 31 May, 2007 - 16:20.
We were in for Viduka, so you're wrong on that front, mate. We are definitely also in for Cahill & Barton, as well as Bent. JoP

If we did manage to secure the services of Cahill, and with Parker virtually signed, will it be Mark Noble who gives way for them?I can't see Benayoun or Boa Morte being left out,so it would probably be Noble.Just when he gets international recognition as well.
Submitted by Anonymous on 31 May, 2007 - 12:47.
where did you get the info on cahill nev? i cant find it anywhere
Submitted by Anonymous on 31 May, 2007 - 12:34.
Where did this Cahill rumour come from there's no truth in it. Couple people said we want to sign him now everyone thinks its going to happen. Id like to sign Henry Ronaldo Drougba lets make a rumour about that. If Cahill ends up at West Ham that would be great as he is top class but that won't happen and not for less than 10M.

Lets start up a petition about trying to get pato then i think it is sum kind of truth in it because magnesson is our chariman and we got funds aswell and could also help tevez and vice versa
Submitted by Anonymous on 31 May, 2007 - 12:36.
This guy looks wonderfull , where has the story come from that we are in for him ?
Submitted by Anonymous on 31 May, 2007 - 12:28.
Stop dreaming? Why would Tim Cahill give up european football, and playing for a real footballing team like ourselves? Its not going to happen, and at the moment we're saying the attraction is Tevez...hes not likely to stay if you ask me. Everton have been a top 6 team now in two out of the last 3 seasons, we're have we been. We will return soon, but why join a building team, when Everton are so far infront?
Submitted by Anonymous on 31 May, 2007 - 12:36.
Exactly what i said yesterday. People think just because Lucus Neill is telling him how good it is, he's just gonna up and leave. Talk sense.
Submitted by siandsam on 31 May, 2007 - 12:39.
But remember that Neill apparently had a straight choice between champions league football (with a team that won it only 18 months beforehand) and the midst of a relegation battle.... also you have to remember how many aussies actually work in London
Submitted by Anonymous on 31 May, 2007 - 18:04.
only cos he was paid loads of money.

What does everyone reckon about the Captain..cy? If Curbs is bringing Scott Parker in will he make him captain? Better not do, vice-captain maybe, I want to see Lucas Neill wearing that armband next season.
Submitted by Anonymous on 31 May, 2007 - 12:53.
dont think there is any chance of neill not being captain next year
Submitted by Anonymous on 31 May, 2007 - 19:41.
We will finish top 4 with this team, Green,Neill,Curtis Davies, Upson, Shorey, Benayoun, Parker, Cahill,Gamst Pedersen, Ashton, D Bent
Submitted by siandsam on 31 May, 2007 - 12:37.
i think that it can only be a good thing that Neill LBm and parker were all club captain last year, i seem to remember Upson being skipper at Birmingham (bruces type of player i'd imagine) and yossi is the international skipper and Noble looks like he has the passion to be a future hammers captain - surely can only be good for the whole squad/team especially if we get rid of the poison baby bently boys

No Top four club has beatern down our door for young Nigel then ? Looks like the waste land that is the midlands for you little boy Aston Villa at best .Beware your sins will find you out Nigel you are not as half as good as you think you are .Tip. Work on your first touch as you second touch is a tackle . Try looking up when you have the ball. Pass to a menmber of your own side now and again. Good luck N.R.C , a few years ago you were playing beach ball football for the M.K Dons . when you speak of us speak well . Welcome Mr Parker

Maybe just maybe the Alex Pato deal has got somthing to do with Tevez. maybe West Ham has been talking to Tevez bout who he wants in. This may be away of making Tevez stay?????.....
Submitted by Anonymous on 31 May, 2007 - 15:50.
The only reason Pato might move quickly is that he's sick of Pocoyo roughing him up in training! :)

I'm really not sure Everton will let Cahill go but would make things interesting in the centre of midfield if Parker is tied up which looks likely. It will also be interesting if no one outside of the big 4 come in for NRC & lets face it it will only be Arsenal & they won't be held to ransom for him. I think he will make a great captain of our reserve side until January!! I also get the feeling that Curbs isn't going to sign a right midfielder as I think he has Yoss pencilled in thatposition but I think he has to play more centrally. He's one of the most talented players in the Prem & he's wasted out on the wing. I would like to see Koumas come in to play on the left, Bridge at left back (if possible) if not steal Baines from under Fat Sam's nose & a right winger ideally SWP. My team for next season being - Green / Neil Upson Collins Bridge/Baines / Koumas Parker Noble/Benayoun SWP / Ashton Tevez - That would do for me.

Sorry folks, don't want to drag this up again and this maybe isn't the right time but it really P****S me off when I see this and maybe we should go in and correct them on it. In fact we should start our own petition and get back at this lot dragging the good name of our club through the crap. On the other hand we could just ignore their bleating. The West Ham case has been reviewed. A panel of Northern judges was convened in order to review the case against WHUFC and the contractual irregularities which lead to their alleged 'cheating' during last years Premiership campaign. After much deliberation (the said panel requiring a record five minutes to reach a decision) the panel have proposed to rethink the fine imposed upon WHUFC in order to find a punishment that could be found to be acceptable by both parties. It has been revealed that the reason that a points deduction was called for by the Sheffield fans and other geographically handicapped people, as opposed to the 5 1/2 million pound fine that has been levied against WHUFC, is that it has come to light that the idea that so much money could actually exist all at once in the whole world was inconceivable so far north of the Watford Gap, thus the fine actually being dismissed by the man on the street as a joke. The proposal of a new fine was unanimously accepted - the result of which being the good people of the north now actually feeling a deal of sympathy for the poor southerners who now have to stump-up a whopping '5 racing Whippets, 1/2 cwt of black pudding mix, one dozen racing Pidgeons (Eggers' best ones at that!) 25x200er packs of Senior Service untipped best Navy shag and an incredible 50 (yes 50) cases of Light Ale. The court re-adjourns tomorrow afternoon after Bingo.

Sad, whinging, pathetic northern cnuts. You are funny tho'! But don't worry northerners, your contact with the premiership is not lost forever . . . . You can watch us! (on your pissy little black and white telly's)!!! COYI Irons Germany

Yada, Yada, Yada... its not fair, its not fair, we want to play in the premiership, boo-hoo-hoo. Shouldn't they be focusing on the consolidation of their team, preparing for a new manager's pre-season training and working towards promotion in 2008??? Thats what we would be doing not whining on about it...
