Crikey Its All Going Crazy At West Ham

Submitted by Neville Nixon on 30 January, 2007 - 15:00.
The silly season that is more commonly known as the January transfer window lurches in to it's final hours with West Ham reportedly offering and then having rejected a ludicrous £18 Million players plus cash bid for Charlton's England International Striker Darren Bent. It appears that no amount of money will coerce Charlton into parting with their prize asset, Premiership survival is the order of the day at the Valley as well as the Boleyn, so they obviously are not willing to sell a player who could help to condemn their team to relegation, so where does this leave Eggert Magnusson and Alan Curbishley? It is believed that Curbishley has told his chairman that enough is enough on the 'Bent' saga, and similarly to the situation at Birmingham with regards to the attempted transfer of Mathew Upson, that neither club will do any business unless they are offered stratospheric prices, well, if £18 Million for Bent isn't stratospheric what is? Taking the P**s that's what it is, you can just imagine club chairmen rubbing their hands in anticipation of 'teaching the Icelandic new boy a lesson' by fleecing him at every opportunity. To long suffering fans it is little short of a tragedy that for once the club finally has financial clout, only to see the riches being squandered on players who could hardly be described as 'world class'. Magnusson's increasingly desperate attempts at bringing in new players have made him an ideal target for extortionate demands, how far he is prepared to push the envelope will become apparent in the next thirty odd hours. Shame shame and double shame! - Ed We will be putting articles up every four hours or so until the transfer window closes, there is of course the small matter of tonight's game against Liverpool as well. Richard Murray was quick to rubbish the 'Bent' reports on Sky news, but most Chairmen are pre-programmed to lie without compunction and would find it hard to tell the truth even if they wanted to.

i dont want to put a negative aspect on this but of course Eggy will say things like; its very simple, Tevez has a contract for 3 more years, of course he will be here next year. what do you think hes going to say with this arbitration going on? he has to say that Tevez is ours no question, etc, etc. If he said that he doesnt know if he'll stay because his future is not in West Ham's hands and so on then that will further fuell allegations of transfer 'dodgyness'. West ham have said all along that theres not a problem with the transfer and so will have to stick to it, at least until a verdict has been made. i hopw he does stay and of course Eggy's comment give me more faith but you have to remember what is in his best interest to say. I mean Kia seems to think that he holds economic rights over the player??? who knows, its all still up in the air until Tevez says hes staying himself! ~please~

i think we could do with 8 signings (including carlitos). a sub-keeper? Bridge/Shorey/Baines, G.Barnes, Parker, Cahill/Arteta/Guti/(no Barton please), SWP/Richardson/Kewell, TEVEZ, Johnson/Bent/Saviola/Bellemy. that would be a top side!

'wot happened to the team we were proud to support last year' nothin there still the same team they were last year anybody who understands the game knows wot happens when you hit a bad patch n lose confidence it is down to curbs now to lift the lads team bonding exercises ye dont have to win a game to install confidence just ask aidy boothroyd maybe the lads should go see rocky balboa anything is worth a shot
Submitted by Anonymous on 31 January, 2007 - 11:31.
i do agree zoltang that there was a few that where going hiding in the early stages but did ye see reo coker went past a livepool player once and it seemed to lift the whole team thats why they need our full support to get thru this sticky patch its true wot they say form is temporary but class is permanent n we all know how much class thre is
Submitted by Anonymous on 31 January, 2007 - 11:26.
Thats all simple lack of confidence it can be so fragile n at the same time thats all it takes is one goal to turn a teams season and hopfully them last fifteen minutes gave the lads the belief to go on and win the next game
Submitted by Anonymous on 31 January, 2007 - 11:24.
thats a bit harsh on quashie he done alot of the nitty gritty he also made one or two vital interceptions i totally disagree QUAshie n NRC could degvelop a real decent partnership the signs are their why do certain people just continuue to critisise the only thing that performance lacked was a bit of confidence and self believe im personally up beat after it only for that total fluke by kuyt things could of been so different we was gainin confidence as the game went on n that just knocked the stuffin out of us well done boys keep it up n curbs please bring back Greene. com on u irons. Jason Koumas is swapping his Wests from Brom to Ham to replace Hayden Mullins who is moving to Charlton in a swap deal for Hermann Hreidarsson.

Hi natman9 I agree with you somewhat but I'm an eastender and grew up with west ham and lately there's been too many what ifs, too many gaps on the park Ive seen better on Hackney Marshes and remember where Cloughie used to get his players from at Forest and where Happy Harry gets his for Pompey Pompey Paul

Can Quazzy not play a pass without pirouetting(sp) first? No one was showing for the ball tonight. Quazzy looked like he doesn't want to pass to NRC and I thought that NRC was our best player tonight, not that it was difficult! Good to see Kepa get a goal first time out. Any idea when our defenders are going to be fit??

I have just sat and watched the biggest load of crap ever. I hope no aspiring junior hammers were watching this lesson in how not to play football. Eleven headless chickens describes it but then eleven headless chickens would probably have made a better show of it, remember every club Nigel Quashie has been at have been relegated, not a good omen Alan Pompey hammer

hey alan,im a hammer from pompey 2,but i disagree with u abit, thought we played ok against a top team.if only they hadnt got that early goal it may have been a different story

Zamora?! Harewood! if he does not start kepa, cole or tevez if fit up front against Villans I'll get very pissed with him, carrol? was shaky and Green kept clean sheets against the other 2 big teams, im worried for west ham, it's looking desprate granted we've many injuries but harewood is a git, keep kepa he's something good. i'm still not convinced, Daily is a **** At least reading stuck it to wigan, its about us and them now but we've gotta beat charlton away. Keep faith lads our support tonight was fantastic. If brooking turned up to some games on the sideline i think some results and performances mite go our way.
Submitted by natman9 on 30 January, 2007 - 21:54.
overall we did well but that early goal after half time was a bastard.i want green in goal, everytime the ball goes near carroll i get very nervous.y did crouch get man of the match,he did *** all.mine would have been nrc.he's not my fav player but hey he did good 2nite

Can anyone tell me what the hell LBM contributed tonight? Why didn't he give Matty a chance. The only time I saw LBM over half way was to deliver awful dead balls. I'm not saying he's crap but thought he was tonight. Also what the hell did bloody Daily think he was doing. Minutes left and he thinks he's going to score from 25 yards. I'm so bloody miserable right now........

All i can say is WHY!! Why the F&%K is Quashie wearing a West Ham Shirt! He is worse than Mullins and negative, always looks nervous on the ball, what was Curbs thinking. To be honest I was expecting nothing out of the game but atleast we made a meal of it towards the end. Please curbs bring back Noble, young fearless and loves getting forward, Oh wait, he plays well, scores so we drop him. Get a clint clints flipping GRIP CURBS TIME IS RUNNING OUT....
