Eggert In It To Win It For Carlitos

In a statement issued on the club's official website www.whufc.com , West Ham Utd chairman Eggert Magnusson has begun to share his vision of the future. Most fans will be overjoyed to hear that Argentine International and player of the year Carlos Tevez features high on his list of priorities..This is what the Egg Man has to say.. "There is bound to be a lot of speculation over the summer about our playing squad. It is normal in a transfer window, who is going, who we want to bring in. We are ambitious for this club and what we can achieve next season. We want to strengthen the squad and to build on the positives of the 2006/07 season. I'm proud of what the club has achieved and now we can move forward. We will work hard over the summer to prepare for next season and that includes keeping our best players who want to play for us. (here is the bit that everyone wanted to hear) "There will be a particular focus on Carlos Tevez and I want him to stay. I suspect a lot will be written about his future but the starting point is that he is a West Ham player, registered with and contracted to the club with three years remaining on a 4 year contract. Whatever happens next we will act to protect the best interests of West Ham United FC". Well there you have it, happy days - Ed

TEEEEEVEZ IS A COCKNEY,

TEEEEEVEZ IS A COCKNEY, TEVEZ IS A COCKNEEY LALALALA

If Tevez stays he should

If Tevez stays he should have his own theme song. How about something to the tune 'apache' by the shadows. something with a red indian/apache theme perhaps? any ideas?

Or how about playing

Or how about playing something off of the Piola Vago CD over the Boleyn PA?

There has been a lot of talk

There has been a lot of talk about the Tevez contract and that MSI will sue us. Here is the problem: 1. The Tevez contract with MSI was deemed illegal so we tore it up. 2. An illegal contract is unenforceable eg.If I signed a contract with you to steal something, you couldn't sue me if I didn't commit the crime because the contract is illegal and unenforceable. The result,we have a contract with Tevez for 4 years but I would imagine that the outcome will be that we will make a deal with MSI to either continue to loan Tevez or buy him outright.

Steve212102..... .. Is it

Steve212102..... .. Is it just Sporting Life that are saying Benitez expects to spend £100 million on improving his squad? Expects? Hopes, wants £100mil more like!!. . . . . .... Can anyone clarify. I keep hearing about this illegal contract that Kia and /or MSI have with Tevez. Illegal where? Just in England? Because surely that contract was written up in South America is/was it legal there? And does that make any difference now that he's in England. I thought we just had to compensate Kia/MSI for a sum agreeable to both parties. Haha was I dreaming when I picked up any of these snippets of info. Does anybody really know about the contract outside of the F.A., Eggy and Kia. J? . If so, please tell me. Steve.C. Barking Mad...West Ham Till I Die!!!

The Premier League actually

The Premier League actually said that it would not be enforcable in an English Court.

despite eggy saying he got 3

despite eggy saying he got 3 yrs left of his contract we obviously still gonna have to join a bidding war to keep him and at 30 mil is gonna severely dent our so called 50 mil warchest, perhaps that why curbs looking at the likes of riggot! i want bridge cahill tevez gudjohnson and barnetta, with minimal injurys could seriously challenge the top 4.

Totally agree mate, problem

Totally agree mate, problem is I reckon we are going to have to get one big name in quickly that will encourage other big players to come to us, I am just a bit worried about all the negative media coverage in the season just gone and wether that will put players off comming here !! however you are right the £30 mil we would / could have to pay for Tevez would leave us little to strengthen elsewhere, the only way I think it could work if Eggy took that on as an additional debt and made it self financing through shirt sales, sponsership and that kind of thing !!!

does anybody know when

does anybody know when season ticket prices come out?

Later on this week.

Later on this week.

I have to disagree with a

I have to disagree with a lot of posts here ! I remember the cup final last year not just because of a great game of footy played by two teams that always try to entertain their fans but also by the two sets of fans that got on so well in Cardiff both before and after the match, Liverpool maybe a few years ahead of us in terms of overall team quality but they play the game the way it should be played and they do have proper fans that sing unlike the redsox, plastics and the crew at the library, so lets give them some respect and show our class and even though I am Cornish I still would and will always support an English team in Europe (except the spuds of course) Yeghes da Plymouth Hammer

An 'English' team in Europe.

An 'English' team in Europe. Well thats debatable these days. Liverpool..owned by Yanks, Spanish Manager, majority of players foreign. Same with Chelsea, Manure and Arsenal. Personally I think our clubs are losing their identity. You have people in Ghana who call themselves fans supporting Chelsea simply because Essien is playing...was same for Fortune at Manure with South Africans..the game is so global now that to say you are supporting a team because they are 'English' is a thing of the past. Support who you like..stop with this 'patriotic' nonsense. You support West Ham why should you need to support Liverpool in Europe?

Liverpool are cnuts, got

Liverpool are cnuts, got lucky in cardiff and have glory hunting fans just as much as manure. Really, how english is gerrrard, he always plays like shit for England its obvious he cares more about liverpool. Im glad they lost, to be honest, next year nothing wopuld please me more than to see all of the top 4 go out at the group stage to shut up there glory hunting fans.

god you are a twat!!!!!

god you are a twat!!!!!

Liverpool are an English

Liverpool are an English Club.. Representing England in the European Champions League. Regardless of whether it's Liverpool, Chelsea or Arsenal they are still a team from your country. You don't have to support them, but to want another country to beat them is ridiculous. And does that mean West Ham is not an English club because we have an Icelandic Chairman and players from Argentina, Australia, Portugal, Scotland, Wales and Ireland? NO.

I personally dont support

I personally dont support any other "English" team when playing in europe....but what i do support and will always do....is the premiership being represented, especially when playing the likes of AC Milan or any other team that slags off the prem'.

I f#####g hate Italian

I f#####g hate Italian football. And I hate it even more since they knock out my great nation Australia in the world cup. Not that they won, but the way they won. Everything about it is all the worst things in the game. Their antics in the Liverpool game were less than average. And officials seem to support it (I wonder why?). It is a blight and the dying past. Football is now global, it will grow by growing in places like North America and Australia (tv and other revenues) not by holding on to the past in little ole Italy. The English Prem league will be the sole dominator in five years. The Murdochs of this world saw this coming ten years ago. The English Prem will only go from strength to strength.

West Ham would also be wise

West Ham would also be wise to make a tour of Australia and especially Asia. Do the sums on the populations in Asia. Even half a per cent of support in this region is worth more than the support of some entire nations. There are one billion Chinese and one billion Indians just for starters. Don't think the owners of Man U were not eyeing up this market when they bought in. Actually I think it was their prime motivation.

Support the 'premiership

Support the 'premiership being represented'? What a Toss.

Great points, however I dont

Great points, however I dont think its down to who own a club or plays in the team, its where the club is from. Liverpool football club represents Liverpool, an English city, the club will always be an English club when this owner, manager and players are long gone.

FINALLY! At least someone

FINALLY! At least someone else on here has a bit of patriotism.

Hi Hayden, whats worse I am

Hi Hayden, whats worse I am Cornish not English so there isnt a real reason for me to support England or another English team in an international competition however I do, its a shame that this club v country thing even exists, I dont know any other country in the world that this happens in except England and I must admit I just dont get it unless there is bad blood between clubs for example Rangers / Celtic, Liverpool / Man U, Spuds and Chelski / the rest of the world !!!!! Yeghes da Plymouth Hammer

mate u mite claim to be

mate u mite claim to be cornish, but plymouth is in devon, so does that make u n immigrant? !!!

Hey its where I can get work

Hey its where I can get work !!! I lived in Barking for years as well as Romford, Collier Row and further into Essex (hence the love of all things claret and blue) but you are what you are !!! Devons a great place (Plymouths a bit of a cr@p hole to tell the truth not bad if you consider a keep fit regime consists of 20 pints of wife beater and a punch up on a thursday, friday, saturday (well any bl00dy day to be honest)) as far as immigrants go, if we could get rid of all the ponces buying retirement / holiday homes down here at prices we just cant afford we wouldnt have to move around so much !!! Yeghes da Plymouth Hammer

Maybe if they'd had some

Maybe if they'd had some match practice against fulham and charlton then they might have done better. or at least won on penalties like the jammy b*stards usually do.

DOES ANYONE KNOW WHEN DINGLE

DOES ANYONE KNOW WHEN DINGLE ASHTON IS BACK??????? I heard he was finished please say this isnt so!

he's already back in training

Re: Liverpool. Personally

Re: Liverpool. Personally couldn't give a toss about last night. They lost, move on. However I was amazed to hear what happened to some of their fans. Over 100 had tickets but were left stranded at John Lennon Airport after their plane had "technical problems"! Yeah right, you can just hear the announcer now, "OK, will the little scally who nicked the wheels off the plane please bring them back..." Ahh the Liverpool sense of humour! Also, there were several fans in Athens being interviewed this morning on the news who had tickets but couldn't get in the ground because hundreds of scousers had turned up without tickets and sneaked in. Now it may be me, but after Hillsboro you would have thought they would have learned a lesson???!

I feel a bit out of order

I feel a bit out of order being glad that Liverpool lost last night. One one hand it would have been nice if an English team had won. But on the other hand I am well pissed off with the pikeys this season. What Benitez done against Fulham was out of order, Sheff Utd should be on their case, not ours. Then their chairman started gobbing off about the Tevez afair, after he took Mascherano. Finally, we come to Steven Gerrard, a great player but a cnut. Plays a blinder in the FA Cup Final and like a donkey during the World Cup. I hope that he dissapears up his own arse. This is a great pity as I used to like Liverpool back in the day. Anyway, I should be talking about important thing like West Ham. Come on you ironssssssssssss.

I'd just like to clear

I'd just like to clear things up for my own benefit at much as for everyone elses. As I understand it, Mascherano was loaned to us from MSI and Liverpool took over the loan so Mascherano no longer has any West Ham link. As for Tevez, in the original contract we would only get compensation for his sale, but we unilaterally changed the contract so that we now have complete ownership over him. However you can't just go cancelling contracts from one side so although technically we'd keep the profits from his sale, MSI would sue our ass off and win so basically we're still bound by whatever decision they want to make. Mascherano will therefore definitely not be returning from loan to West Ham, and Tevez will move wherever MSI make the greatest profit, which could be us if Eggy makes the highest bid and Tevez agrees. The most likely scenario is that a big bid will come in from Spain and he'll be able to move where he speaks the language.

Actually.. The Premier

Actually.. The Premier League said that we could well change it unilaterally and MSI would have no chance of winning their case in an English Court.

Mostly agree but where does

Mostly agree but where does this 4 year contract come into the equation? Why would Eggy come out now and say that he's currently bound to the club by the three years remaining on the original four year contract? If Eggy is saying still talking about him being under the terms of that contract then he can't of ripped up the original contract. Maybe he just ripped up the part of the contract that has 3rd party influence but everything else is still binding. My head hurts!

It is probably a four year

It is probably a four year loan period, if that was legal with first option to buy if we could afford it, which I dougbt we could, then paid some compensation if sold on by his owners.

I love the eggman and just

I love the eggman and just want to kiss his big shiney head (ala Lauren Blanc - Fabian Barthez, maybe I can come and do it before each match for luck like they use to!). What's all this about Apache being contracted to the club for 3 more years? I think the Eggman is being massively cool about the whole Tevez situation. I reckon he knows something we don't and there's going to be another massive Apache contract revelation at some point, hopefully after the fixture list has been announced!

Do we get mascherano back

Do we get mascherano back now? he wasn't very good, mind you liverpool were rubish. We'll done Milan! Kaka'

We must have be shown a

We must have be shown a different game in Australia, because I thought AC Milan were complete shite, Liverpool were just short a quality striker. Milan were lucky to win the trophy.

Yep and short of a decent

Yep and short of a decent left winger...must have been having to bring Harry Kewell on!

I watched the same game as

I watched the same game as you. Milan were cack and scored a very lucky opener that set the tone for the rest of the game. Liverpool played the better football all game just couldn't do the business in the final third. Think they were missing an Apache like figure to do the business. (Notice I said Apachelike and not THE Apache, hands off!). Also anyone notice that for the goal KAKA won the freekick and PIPI scored passed PEPE while DIDA and DODO celebrated! sounds like a some sort of toddler birthday party to me!

Quite right... Milan didn't

Quite right... Milan didn't play well and that first goal was quite a blatant handball.. he controlled it with his upper arm. How people don't support their country in Europe is beyond me. There is no patriotism anymore. I'm proud to be West Ham and proud to be English.. If an English team is playing in Europe I want THEM to win so England wins. The fact that some English people wanted a fucking Italian team to win is ridiculous. YOU ARE ENGLISH! (Unless of course.. you are not)

Have you ever played

Have you ever played football? How could he get out the way of that ball at that speed? It brushed his upper arm which was held tight to his torso. Blatant handball would imply he stuck his hand out. He didn't, in fact he was barely looking at the ball. A bit of luck but so what? The Scally's have had enough for years. All this 'I want English teams to win' in bull. These clubs will be competing with us for players, the less prestige and money they have, the better it is for us. I didn't want Liverpool to win and if you had lived in Liverpool for any length of time you would understand why. They are the first to let you know when they've won something and yet they sulk and blame anything and everything when they lose. I've been there today and they genuinely believe that they've been hard done by. Also, the behaviour of some of their supporters (STEALING tickets from LITTLE CHILDREN) is disgraceful. Liverpool are a fine club and it is a good city but when it comes to things like this I've got no time for them.

Well said Denbighammer.
