Well it had to happen, despite showing some long lost passion West Ham were undone by Tottehaham at the Boleyn eventually losing 3-4 after having led by 2-0 at half time.
A needless penalty conceeded by Lee Bowyer set S***s on the way to victory in the second half, hated judas Jermain Defoe converted the kick and the tone was set for an afternoon that had promised so much to end in anxiety and eventually anger and frustration.
For once the team played in a way that fans could be proud of, but circumstances dictated that this would be the last hurrah of Hammers fight against relegation.
After Tainio volleyed S***s level from Lennon's pass Hammers looked to be beaten, but gradually they clawed themselves back into the game, Bobby Zamora replaced Mathew Etherington and duly scored from a Carlos Tevez (Hammer Of The Year) free kick.
Everything seemed to be going Alan Curbishley and the crowd's way when Anton Ferdinand conceeded a free kick just outside the box, up atepped Berbatov and curled the ball over the congested wall and betond Green and Konchesky who was on the line and narrowly missed a last ditch headed clearance.
The salt was finally rubbed into the wounds as Hammers were hit on the break having laid siege to Paul Robinson's goal, Paul Stalteri scored a dramatic injury time winner that left a deflated but still proud Boleyn beginning to face up to life in the Fizzy. - Ed

We all need to keep the belief, if the players were thinking like we are, thats its already over and they just went out on the pitch walked about condemned to relegation,(much like they have for most of the season) we would all go mad and rightfully so. So if we are going to moan at them for giving up and showing no passion we cannot do the same ourselves. Cmon boys lets show why we are the best fans in the country, get behind them and just hope for a major miracle. I must be honest i cannot see it happening but we cannot give up. West ham always do things the hard way and it aint over till its over. Cmon u irons. P.S if anyone can get this messgae to eggert or if he reads it himself, (unlikely,lol) but do whatever it takes to keep hold of tevez whtever leauge we are in next year!!!

I have to agree with the posts of some of older and wiser supporters ( me being one them ) I find that the sad and lonely comments from some of the other supporters quite disturbing. Are their lives really so empty ? What is more disturbing and as said before laughable is we have supporters that take the time to reply. Come on you irons rise above it, ignore and lets get on with talking about our beloved hammers !
I've been a West Ham fan for 40 years. The plight of the club is tragic or laughable, depending on how you look at it, but nothing excuses the anti-semitic and racist comments on this website - or the appalling bad language. Football is a beautiful game and the Irons have been one of its prime exponents over the years. Some of the rubbish on the comments here are as bad as the attitude as some of the players at the moment. Let's argue over the football, the transfers, the managers, the owners, whether Reo-Coker should have been allowed to go to Arsenal or Man U. And have a debate about how we get out of the Championship next season. But cut the Hitlerian comments lads.
Nev, I am a relatively knew member on here but have been an Iron for 45 years. I cannot believe any West Ham fan wants to come on a site and read pathetic childish insults from obviously mentally challenged "rival" supporters who hide behind the wall of anonymity. I live in the midlands and joined primarily to interact with other real fans who can get more often to the Boleyn and give me a better idea whats happening at the club. To be honest, I don't come on the site as often as I would like to because of the purile nonesense that is posted by fans of other clubs (obviously one in particular) and often prolonged by one or two of our own. It totally degrades the site and destroys what it was hopefully meant to be; a place for real Irons fans to chat about the fortunes of their team. To celebrate success together and to comiserate failure. Please, Please do something to stop the idiots getting on here, make it a requirement to register before being able to post and pop up warnings to all posters that their IP address has been logged. This would at least encourage real fans to post comments and maybe stop some of the idiots coming on here and spoiling what is a very good site. Ironhammer, WHU for life!
This is a constant and constantly pathetic scenario to have to deal with, open discussion surplanted by the moronic few, but just to show that we do care there will be a queue system in place for a few days, the problem is that there are many Hammers fans who post anonymously, but maybe now is the time to set up a members only situation.

West Ham know that a very large percentage of season-ticket holders will renew next season (including me!) and I doubt that there'll be too much of a reduction in cost (if any) apart from match ticket prices.

Take your blinkers off nev S***s were crap in the 1st half and the only reason the game was close was because they under performed if it were not for green we would have been beaten out of site.
The bottom line is when they did start playing they pulled the game back to 2-2 and then sat back, when they upted the pace after going 3-2 they mugged us I think a fair result was a draw but such is life,roll on next season.

I dont think there will be big clear out of players, no doubt there will be a few leave, but its obvious that Eggy wants to get back quickly and will pay the big wages as a premiership club.This is now different to the last time we went down,with Rodent and TB.Eggy wants to make a success of this club and not just to benefit his pocket.We wouldnt have been in this position if he had taken over last August.

I know the popular idea is to have a big clear-out of players at the end of this complete fiasco of a football season, but all we are going to do is swap one lot of prima-donnas for a new set of gambling, partying, drunken egotists. The problem, surely is that they all know that their agents will get them back in the Premiership, at some other club, on a better wage, a longer contract, somewhere else, while we have to try, with Premiership dropouts and untried youngsters, to create a team to get us back there. Let's see who runs a football club these days, the Manager or the Agent. NO TRANSFERS. The whole squad was to varying degrees appalling and a disgrace, and they owe us fans, the people who would die for this football club, a bit more than a goodbye and I'll make my millions elsewhere. They have all got to stay, and put this right. It's too easy to walk away.

Tevez/Mascherano investigation ongoing, with dispensation to play out rest of this season, so we can start next season with a minus number. From the team that started on Sunday, Green, Neill, Ferdinand, Upson, Noble, Harewood, Tevez, are likely to be gone by the start of next season, together with Bennayoun, Ashton, and Sheringham. Nobody has any faith in Curbishley. The management can't control the players off the field as they are either in New York or down the betting shop. Any other good news?

Anyway sat in a pub full of West Ham & S***s watching the game and there was good banter and atmosphere despite your predicament. Best game of the season for drama & excitement, but don't think Hammers could really enjoy it. Enjoyed watching Lennon & Tevez, and Bowyer gives you the fight thats been missing the last couple of months. Ferdinand looks so out of condition and both him and Konchesky were awful, how you miss Gabbidon & Ashton. Even I felt sorry for the Hammers at the end, but I'm sure you would prefer to have the p*ss ripped out of you than have the pathetic pathetics feel sorry for you.
I think if Pards had still been there you may have got out of this. He would have dropped the "I'm bigger thn the club brigade" and brought in some younger, hungrier players much earlier. Pards is more agressive than Curbs and would have put the boot in at some stage, whereas Curbs can't believe that players earning £50k a week won't bust a gut and I don't think he's used to handling high-maintenance players. I think Curbs will get you back up, but stick with him and you'll be another Charlton (you'd take that now though).
Biggest villain though is Terry Brown, he sold you down the river for £30 million, he thought it would be Kia lining his pockets so done a deal for Tevez and Mash when no other club would look at that type of deal. He deliberately hid the terms of the deal and now the F.A. have come knocking and I think its certain you will lose points. I don't think there is any comeback from it either, the Egg should have done due diligence on what he was buying but seemed more interested in lapping up the euphoria from tha fans. I mean if you was buying a 2nd hand card, the phrase is the buyer beware. At least you got rid of Brown though...
