West Ham Fans

Hi you "Hammer" fans. Been a WH supporter all my life. Was born in Bow (1931) and have lived in Plaistow, Leytonstone, Stratford (was married in St Matthews Church), and East Ham before moving to Southampton when the Passenger Ships left Tilbury for Southampton and my job went with them. Get up from time to time to see a game but not often but there's no other club for me although I also have a soft spot for my local clubs and occasionally go to them if they are playing WH. Needless to say you can guess which side I support! A great game I remember was I think the first night game under floodlights and WH played Racing Club of Paris and this French Guy shot a back kick into the goal, never seen one before and it was an exciting game. Came up one year end when WH played Southampton in last game of season and both needed to win but surprisingly some other clubs elsewhere, who had been expected to win, lost and so both WH and Saints were safe and at the end of the game both lots of fans went onto the field and toasted each other. lovely atmosphere.
