Ferdinand on SPURS shopping list.Submitted by Essexhammer on 7 May, 2008 - 20:19.
Former S***s boss Martin Jol made an approach for Ferdinand, but the Hammers rejected the initial ₤4 million offer.
However, according to The Sun, Juande Ramos is prepared to go one better than his predecessor – or two better, rather – by tabling a ₤6 million bid to bring the promising young defender to White Hart Lane.
Ramos will need to shore up his defensive options for next season, and Ferdinand may be a perfect replacement for French flop Younes Kaboul as cover for the injury-prone Ledley King and Jonathan Woodgate.
The 23-year-old has long been tagged to follow in his brother Rio’s footsteps by becoming one of the best defenders in the Premier League.
However, a series of injuries and off-field problems have halted his development for the time being, and Ferdinand now finds himself struggling for games as 19-year-old James Tomkins pushes for a place in the first-team.
Hammer boss Alan Curbishley is looking to revamp his squad in the summer, but has been told he must lighten his squad before bringing in any new recruits.
And as West Ham have no less than six central defenders in their senior squad, Ferdinand may well be deemed surplus to requirements............I think it would be good business to sell FERDY for £6 MILLION ,along with GABBIDON to WBA for £3 MILLION and have COLLINS and TOMPKINS as cover.Thats assuming DAVENPORT is on his way as well.It would mean bringing in a top quality centre back to partner UPSON, which is what many fans have been crying out for most of the season.FERDINAND is good on his day but has too many off days for my liking.
Do you think it's good business or should we ask for more?

Yeah i wonder if there could
Yeah i wonder if there could be a deal for Anton to trade with Lennon, i did once hear that Ramos said lennon could go for the right price. If Diego comes in he can replace Anton.

LENNON is a quality player, bags of pace who would fit in nicely with our counter-attacking style of play
I would take dawson and Lennon for anton. Put Faubert at right back (real pace down the flank).Deal done
I say we get 2 mill and dawson for Ferds... Is it me or is Dawson actually good?
Ramos was so impressed with the way Anton marked Berbatov out of the match in our narrow 0-4 defeat at White Shyte Lane and has come in for him. Yeah right!
