Solano is our only dead ball expert. He is a class player and has scored a couple of beauties. If you think he is worth another season endorse this thread!

Nobles' had a few cracks

Nobles' had a few cracks this season and if practised over the summer could do ok. Nobby is past his sell by date. He's scored 4 goals for us this season which tells you how many free kicks we get around the opposition penalty area!!

The Prem is not the NFL yet Del. Dead ball kickers have to play as well! Move him on! Why can't we train somebody else to do it? It isn't an impossibly difficult skill - I've scored a few like Nobby's from dead ball situations so the likes of Noble and Parker aught to be able to do it with some practise!

I'm with you on this one Ego. I'm sure somewhere in our squad of 74 players we have someone else who can take a good free kick AND run about a bit too.

The prob is del he does not have any pace now, so if he comes up against a quick left mid then he would be a liability no matter how good he is at dead ball. If we were to train someone else up for that role then we would not need him. Don't get me wrong i have always liked Nobby but he has past his best.

Yeah I like Nobby... Having said that, why can't Noble just practice free kicks all summer long until he's as good as Nobby (or better still, Ronaldo!)
