good one hammerhead!!! Londonhammer im gonna have to disagree - look at birmingham and zarate young talent from abroad has come over played a handful of games and looks useful to say the least , this guy is highly rated and is worth a punt......as far as our academy prospects - i would loan collison and sears to one of the new premier teams most liekly stoke so they get experience of Premier league and match time , Tomkins is good enough for our bench he is developing nicely ....COYI

I'd rather not loan our players to other prem clubs, could go pear shaped if we hit another relegation battle. It's always better to toughen them up in the divisions below us, easier to find your space and mistakes aren't always punished etc.

So is that the Ronaldo who sleeps with transvestites,or the Ronaldo who throws himself on the floor whenever players go near him?!
Submitted by londonhammer on 13 May, 2008 - 12:24.
see this is what is going to bother me. why the feck are we now starting to buy players that are not needed. why sign this guy when that means condeming sears back to the reserves?. persoanlly i would like to see us keep playing people like sears and tompkins next season cos that is what our club is about.

but its being short sighted like this as too why west ham were a selling club for many years. If Man Yoo took this attitude then they wouldnt have ronaldo, nani, anderson or other foreign players who compliment the squad. We need to be dipping into talent away from our home grown becuase if we dont another club will. I'm sure you wont mind if we sign him and he ends up scoring over 40 goals a season like ronaldo. Our club is about playing attractive football, whether that means playing sears or not. I for one would like west ham to start competing for european places as quick as possible.

mate I totally agree with you; I think talent from the ranks is going to push us forward BUT, you don't know how theyre looking at this. he could be exceptional, and he could just be a bit part player. we could be clearing out 2 or 3 attackers and just want some more temporary back up and a breath of life into the squad. and from what Ive seen (which is very little) he look like a bit of a playmaker, no-one would disagree about us needing one of those since yossi's departure?
Submitted by londonhammer on 13 May, 2008 - 16:33.
very true, but my argument is that we should be ploughing money into our youth system to bring through these playmakers that are english. i wouldnt mind seeing him play for us dont get me wrong but not in place of someone like sears. no flipping way.

Isn't this all just hype at the moment? The fact is, we haven't signed anyone nor even suggested that we are going to. Until such time as we do, it's all hypothetical, so don't let such a signing bother you until it actually happens.
COYI!!!

yep, I make you right. when you look at how united built their treble winning squad, it was with a core of homegrown talent, and even though they have money at their peril now they still bring through some good players. BUT I wouldnt mind seeing this kid here for a season long loan I've gotta say, just for the timebeing whilst our homegrown talent is developing. Plus, imo sears isnt ready for a full season yet, and the chances of bellamy staying fit are...

LondonH, I think the club would agree with you that's probably why they're only going for a loan striker. Sears is a very special talent and will be formidable but he's not the finished article yet. Another year or so and he'll be as good as most Prem strikers (he might be a bit taller then as well haha)

excuse me ppl. dont mean to burst ur bubble or anything but u realise its just a loan and every striker we have had on loan has played like two games each. and for some stupid reason it hasnt mentioned whether we are going to have an option to buy him if he does turn out to be a star and even if he did destroy the premier league and was a star do u really think juventus would let him go. fuk the stupid loan system. our loans apart from tevez have been absolutely crap. if u want a player for the future sign him dont get him on loan.

Is this the reason we're looking for another striker? http://westham.wordpress.com/2008/05/13/deano-oh-no/

Why, oh why does this have a worrying air of deja vu! If there is any truth to this it's about time our board started to stand their ground and tell the fkn mancs to p1ss off a la O'Neill to Benitoss re Gareth Barry. 1. It's a laughable, no, INSULTING bid which shows us EXACTLY what those idiots really think of us, and 2. if they let him go I'm gonne become a Manc so that I can watch at least half of the West Ham team playing in the CL! If this is true I am gonna be abso-fkn-lutely fumin! Cheeky caaaaaaaaaaaaants!

It's a funny ole game. Just a few short months ago he was almost public enemy number 1 on this site and some fans (not accusing you IG) were saying we should sell. Now 10mill is a pisstake!! Well 10mill is a facking pisstake and we should not even be considering selling our best player. Stick him on a long term contract with a ridiculous buy out clause like they do in Europe (60mill should do it), then see how keen ole red nose is!! Maybe a swap plus cash for Ronaldo?

I'll put me 'ands up to that one M2C ol' son. I did give I'm a bitta stick fer a while, but only cos he was really frustrating me. His attitude was sooooo bad, giving it the bigger than the club bit and complaining about only earning thousands of pounds a week! Now he's pulled his horns in and we're starting to see what he's capable of again I'm very happy to say sorry Deano. But I just wish players would still show a bit of loyalty or at least get a slight tinge of C&B in their glasses! Come on Deano, SIGN FOR THE CLUB THAT HAS SUPPORTED YOU THROUGH THICK AND THIN AND THAT KNOWS WHAT YOU'RE WORTH!!!!!

In 33 games he scored 10 goals in Italy's lower divison. Dont get your hopes up boys.

Let's hope that if it's true Curbs gives him a chance on the pitch. Also what do you think about the two young lads at palace, Soares and Moses, worth a bid if they dont get promoted?

Heres a link to the article never heard of him, but being linked to him is more exciting than being linked to Shorey!

Looks like Mr Nani is starting to cast his web. Well at least it keeps the close season interesting, being linked with the next Ronaldo as apposed to being linked with the next Boa Morteo....
Submitted by moore2come on 13 May, 2008 - 09:56.
Looks interesting to say the least. He would have to prove himself to get ahead of Curbs likely pairing of Ashton and Bellamy but if he can do that we could have a good season out of him. One thing though, I hope we don't take too many players on loan deals this season, look at the impact Camara made!!!

Don't forget players in the past like Dani and that little lad that scored in the snow against Wrexham? There's usually a reason why we get them on loan, bags of ability but application lacking... Maybe it's different now we have Nani pulling the strings.
