I think 'big fish, small pond' is the term here - he looked cracking at wigan, and pretty good at fulham but he hasnt had much in the way of class players at either of these. he wouldnt add anything that parker/noble cant, and dyer would be the top pick of the 4 if fit. his f/k's are good, but no better than solano. wud b a waste of money :(
When I've sen Jimmy Bullard i have admired his passion and commitment. having said that I wouldn't want to see him replacing Parker or Noble and we need left and right midfielders, not another central player. I'd rate him higher than Mullins but would only see him as a backup, not someone who can improve us. Dyer, Faubert all offer more and we have Collison in the mix too.
I like Bullard, energy, passion (not much of that from some of our guys), deadly at free-kicks but I doubt he would add much to our squad. I rather him to Bowyer and Mullins but that's it. We've got Parker, Dyer and Noble ahead of him and should be looking for a creative midfielder and Jimmy ain't that really.
Hes ok, but is he creative enough? i dont think so, i dont think he can push us forward if im honest. someone like Aiden Mceady would push us on and improve the squad, but is he a realistic target? i dont know.
As much as i like Jimmy Bullard i wouldnt buy him only for the fact that we would be buying top dollar for a player who is 30 and i would personally like to buy up and coming talent, there would be more years to come from them.CJ
Is he a West Ham boy at heart? I thought that we bought him from a non-league team as opposed to bringing him up through our ranks? He's a good player, and I do like him. What I would question though, is he better than what we have currently? I'm hoping that if we do splash the cash this summer, it'll be for 'guaranteed' first teamers as opposed to more squad players.
He must be 30 by now, so at most we'll only get a couple of years out of him. He's good, not denying that. I just think for a position like Centre Mid, we need to go for someone who can significantly improve our team.
