I am a big fan of george, i think he has been one of the highlights of the season, which i think alot of people will agree?! However as we have no real cover for him apart from Neil we need to sign some one! do we do a pard's and sign someone just as cover and happy to be a squad player or sign sum1 hopefully better so george doesn't start! I personally feel we should do the latta and sign Rise (if he lost a couple of stone) or shorey who can take good corners and free kicks as well. What do you think

ALSO DIEGO GOUCHO WILL SIGN(GOOD CENTRE HALF) TO REPLACE ANTON(OFF TO S****) AND LAFENTY TO SIGN AFTER ITALIAN SEASON ENDS TODAY.

My preference would be Shorey.As good a defender as George but would give us more going forward.We could probably pick him up at a considerable amount less than his true valuation.I'm not so sure about Bridge,can be good but also awful(Croatia at Wembley).Bridge would cost a lot of money and i suggest it would be money that could be spent elsewhere.I think Riise has lost it.Though he does pack a punch around the oppositions area he lacks in his defencive duties.
are you kidding? how often have you watched shorey? granted he is decent going forward, but defending (which is the main thing) he is nowhere near as good as stella. I've seen countless defending mistakes from shorey this season but only a couple from george. anyway, regardless of whether he is better than george or not, shouldnt we be setting our sights higher than that? or are we content with mid table mediocrity?
what about wayne bridge at chelsea? not gettin a game n would be a big improvement on what we have i would deffinately take him over shorey anyday!
if u would seriously rather have McCartney over Bridge then you oviously dont want west ham to be anything more than a boring mid table team McCartney has done well this season but you must admit we desperately need another left back and i would rather go for one that would improve the squad than back up for at best an average player who has had an ok season
I don't think Bridge is anything special. You obviously think he's the best thing since sliced bread but thats your opinion.
totaly agree with you adz jackson, McCartney had a good season. But if we want to improve, play for Europe next season.
We should try to sign Shorey, Bridge, Riise or Emanuelson of Ajax.
Not only defensive good but also doing there job in front.
You cant push for europe with only 1 natural LB in the squad.
Fully fit, our defence is the least of our problems, particularly the way Curbs sends his teams out. If we want to push for Europe it'd be handy to stick the ball in the back of the net 'cause if you don't score you don't win no matter how many clean sheets we get.
thanks glad i'm not the only one who thinks we should improve rather than just stick with what we have and hope. Even if McCartney was the best left back in the world which he clearly isn't we would still need a new left back as i do not rate Neil or Spector that highly.
Riise? Isn't he the one who headed an own goal in a European Cup Semi because he can't kick with both feet?
If we were to go for Riise i would hope it would be for the left midfeild role and not as a left back he has an amazingly powerful shot but to go to the next level full backs who can use both feet i think is a must
So if you think a full back MUST be able to kick with both feet what do you want Bridge for? Because you ain't gonna get more one footed than him.
i dont mean they have to be amazing with both feet let me put it another way i think we should get a full back that would use his other foot if needed he doesnt have to be amazingly skillful with both just needs to have the balls to use them both if required
