Building a new teamSubmitted by hammerhead on 16 May, 2008 - 15:08.
My belief is that Curbishley is looking to keep only these seven players, and try to build a team around them:Green,Upson,Dyer,Parker,Noble,Ashton and Bellamy. So that leaves him to find two full backs, another centrehalf, and a new left midfielder.what does everyone else think? If you honestly think i'm wrong, then please do put your opinion in.

Are you saying that we are
Are you saying that we are going to sell over 20 players and buy in four? Because, last time I looked, we had more than 11 men in our squad.

I think dead certs for the first team next season will be everyone you mention there hammerhead ,apart from NOBLE possibly. His impact on the first team performance has not been all that this season, probably because he is not in a settled team. But I know what he can do when he is on-song,as he shows regularly for ENGLAND U21.CURB'S may very well bring in a player like BRESCIANO to provide better competition in that position.FAUBERT is another who should be a regular,as his pace and crosses are a consistant part of his game.NEILL also will continue in the right back position under CURB'S.He is the captain ,that has a steadying influence in the defence. He is probably our most composed player on the ball, never flustered into making rash passes. His form has been inconsistent ,like the team ,but a NEILL on top of his game is quality. So that leaves ,like you say hammerhead ,a left back, centre back, left winger plus some better squad players(which is a must)
If that is true, why did he buy Faubert? Why did Neill remain as captain all season? And where exactly, is he going to get the 30 million he needs to fill those 4 positions with top class players whilst retaining a squad bg enough to cope with the injuries that Bellamy, Upson, Dyer, Parker and Ashton regularly collect? Sure you were talking about the West Ham team and not a BUPA starting 11?
And he is part of the BUPA team too! LOL And he doesn't really play in any of he four positions you have identified - he is a right winger by trade.
Curbs couldn't build a sandcastle never mind a new team so yeah. I do honestly think you are wrong.
