Take Frank to the bankSubmitted by ausiron on 8 September, 2008 - 03:52.
If rumours on the site are true about Frank Riijkaard being in the frame for the vacant managers position then I say give him whatever he so wants. He was one of the most exciting players of the 80-90's and has pedigree at Barca. Think of the players we have now being coached by this dude and what they can get from working with the geezer day in day out. Take Frank to the bank and give him what he wants ASAP. COYI lets 'ave it.

Some of us remember him
Some of us remember him spitting at that bubble haired German! We didn't want Diouff here and I don't want Riijkaard here either.

i agree with aycliffe hammer riijkaard was good at barca but for how long it was 2seasons with a built squad playing the same tactics week in week out as soon as everyone clocked the way they played results werent coming as easy plus zola is a legend in italy im sure it wouldnt be a problem with nanis help to bring in a few decent players from the serieA and across europe
Never gonna happen, our ambitions aren`t big enough for him, let alone our club. . . @ least, that`s the way he`ll see it, we`ll probably end up with Zola. . . "Great". . . COYNotVeryAmbitiousIrons
I'll tell you what Pete I would rather have a guy like Zola managing our club than a guy who literally spat in an opponents face. To be honest I have been pretty pleased with the apparent shortlist and think we are attracting a decent calibre of person. Zola would be a risk but if he ends up being choosen than I wouldn't be too disappointed. Probably still favour Bilic but he's hardly a shining light when it comes to leading by example, wasn't it him who went down like he had been shot in a World Cup semi final when he hadn't been touched!
