*Drums fingers on desk whilst proping head up with other hand* "Well, Are We For Sale Or WHAT???" I feel like I`m in limbo here, neither alive nor dead, waiting for the powers that be to tell us something &, if I`m honest, I want that something to be we have new owners. . . But all this waiting around waiting to hear something like an expectant father in a hospital waiting room, is Killing Me!!! COYARGGGHHHHHIrons

What worries me OSP is that if BG does'nt sell then will he use the club and it's assets (mainly the players) to try and recoup some of his financial losses..I mean that thing he sits next to in the directors box (zelda from Terrahawks) must take alot of Botox to to keep up appearances..COYIsaac..

OSP - i posted something yesterday in the 'Latest News' section that a friend of mine told me on friday that this deal is almost done - there are just a few little bits and bobs to iron out and the deal would be announced sometime this week. My mate apparently has a source very close to goings on at West Ham and whilst I don't know how reliable his source actually is, I have no reason to disbelieve my mate - he has been right on other things in the past. It does make sense that BG is technically up to his neck in crap crappy klint and even at £100m it would be a drop in the ocean for someone like Ambani; he has also been linked with a move for Everton over this past week but the theory is that this has just been banded about to throwpeople off of the real target...

KP - i don't disbelieve you at all but at the same time i don't think it will happen. Reason being, in any corporate finance deal, the numbers are generally agreed and deal is in place, and then the due diligence has to take place which could take anything from a few days up to a few months dependent on how much detail is needed. The main issue being that generally after due diligence is done there will appear cracks in the plaster and with our beloved club I think there are quite a few large cracks and lots of skeletons still in the closet. Sometimes they can be negotiated into a new price but other times if grave the deal is dropped like a hot potato.

Hope you are right but if I was him, I would make BG sweat a bit longer. The price can only go one way - down. I suppose he then runs the risk of the team being unsettled and results on the pitch suffering. Interesting days.

I don't think with the sort of money he has another £10m or £20m is going to make much difference to Ambani - he wants to own a PL club that's for sure and West Ham and BG are ripe for the taking; all this garbage about not needing to sell the club is bullshit to prevent BG having to sell out really on the cheap. TB did the same thing when we were relagated remember with the sale of Johnson and Co. There were various diferent links to this story in the press last week and like OSP, i didn't think they held much water...you know, usual press speculation of putting 2 and 2 together and coming up with any other number other than 4, but when my mate told me this and told me who his source was, it started to make more sense. Definitely interesting days and I hope there is some truth to it...

if this is true then we have to be happy the guy is the sixth richest man in the world plus in the papers today it states we could go into administration if not sold within the month

Poyet and Wise sitting together eh? Interesting! £50m? Come on Pete, we could buy the club at that price!

Give it another week Fanno, they`ll give us the club just to get rid of the burden of Neills wages!!! COYBidingOurTimeIrons

A cunning plan, a cunning plan! Don't buy on the way down! Couldn't we just tell Lucas his wages were deposited in an Icelandic bank?

I have it good authority that we DO buy on the way down, we just have to guess if it`s nearly finished dropping. . .

And your authority is....? Not sure of his name, but you can find him with a bottle of cider on a bench in Plashet Park most evenings after 7PM!

We used to own a sweet shop on Plashet Rd, it has absolutely no relevance to this post, but a fact none the less. . .

I used to buy sweets from a sweet shop in Plashet Road. In fact, hang on, I had a great Aunt Doris who owned a sweet shop but can't remember if it was in Plashet Road. Those big jars of sweets on shelves all round the shop. Sherbert Lemons that stuck together and had to be bashed with the metal scoop to get them out of the jar. Those big scales. A ladder so she could reach the top shelf - I always wanted sweets on the top shelf! Are we related? Also happy memories of the guinea pigs and rabbits in the Park. I lived in Chester Road. There was a Trebor factory about 400 yards away and a chapel on the corner. A neighbour two doors up worked in the factory and came home every Friday with a big bag of rejects for me!

Couple of things... I don't understand all this foreign investment. Take Manure and Chelski for example. They have a combined DEBT of £1.5bn. Increasingly to compete, you have to spend more money and I can't see these billionaires who I will assume are very very smart, buying the financial equivalent of a black hole. Secondly, this Ambani dude. The Asian community in and around Upton Park will have NO influence on him buying us whatsoever. This is the fella that is building the WORLD'S most expensive house, in poverty stricken Mumbai (admittedly with some of the highest property prices in the world)... This house will cost £1bn and it will be a home for 5, yep, FIVE people. I think it's an obscene waste of money (regardless of which country it's in), but hey, I don't have two pennies to rub together...$2bn house

After reading this, http://www.northamptonchron.co.uk/football/Financial-crisis-looms-for-Ha... I would say "Yes We Are For Sale" & if you give it a couple more weeks the price will be a little more 'Reasonable' so to speak!!! COYLendUsATennerGuv`norIrons

I think that might be good news Pete - Looking at that post of fanno's below, I couldn't help but think and wonder - An Indian owner with a tott'nham pole outside the main entrance LOL could stick scalps on it
Submitted by hammersfanno1 on 6 October, 2008 - 21:29.
LOL That's a good one! Would they have to move the ground to the corner of Green Street and the Barking Road? No more set piece goals, every time we win a corner, we'll build a shop on it!

well selling the club to the sixth richest man in the world does sound appealing doesnt it. and maybe he could give Zola the money he needs to take west ham further. guess we will see.

I've h'actually heared from a source close to the club that BG only wants to sell 50%, he's looking for a partner to come in and pump some wonga! we'll see in the coming weeks.

LOL West Ham owned by an Indian! It's a bit like Tottenham being bought by Arabs!

Pete, that's very interesting, I never heard those rumblings. Me and Del were talking about being sold-off at the Newcastle game. There is a 'feel' can't quite put me finger on it, but we were both saying it feels like BG is 'tidying' us up for a sale. Recouped a bit of his dough with the Fulham and Sunderland sales, didn't buy only loans got rid of that facking useless millstone Ljungberg etc etc urm, yeah, would not be suprised. Given the massive Indian/Asian community locally and the fact that the Asian Hammers are very big at the club now it would seem to make a lot of sense too. Maybe globalise in the sub-continent raise our world profile
