Jordan Hugill

Let's be honest, he wasn't anyone's 1st choice and I'm sure not many people knew much about him before but he certainly wants to play for us and will be hungry and a 100 per center unlike some of the trash we've had up top over the years. Some of the rubbish I've seen on twitter has been awful. This lad needs our full support and I hope he can prove the doubters wrong. COYI

agreed. lets see what he can offer before we ruin him. We love you Jordan…at least for a week.

There's ambition?

Nothing shouts ambition more than leaving our squad short and then signing a 36 year old who hasn't played in October.

We shouldn't take our rage on him. There is only 3 people to blame for our problems. They are at the root of everything let's not forget that.

We will give this kid a chance, take him to heart if he does good, and probably not throw too much abuse his way if he can't cut it. But if he does come good, and I hope he does, it shouldn't change out view of the board one iota.

Perhaps we can make Jordan our new cult hero? A back handed way of rubbing sullivans nose in it.

Whereas sullivans signings stay here for decades! I remember Steve Jones he actually had 2 stints with us. Didn't he originally work in a soap factory before he joined? Just what we need to clear the dirt and muck coming from the board room.

After his goal against the spuds,he celebrated in a local pub that night & he had drinks bought for him all night!!

In my opinion Hugill could be the key to us staying up. With Lanzini out we're forced to go more direct, but we havent got anybody to hold the ball up because Carrolls injured. Having Hugill up there could actually benefit us greatly. Also supposedly Moyes has scouted him quite abit so research was done on him.

2 or 3 games - hahaha because that's obviously enough to prove yourself - Thierry henry needed half a season but you wanna give a lad from the championship 2 or 3 games

up

Kc, don't you mean a couple of late sub performances? Surely that's enough to prove anyone is a world beater! Seriously you need a 6 game run to have ANY chances of showing what you might be like. It's embarrassing that anyone judges any player on what he has done so far.

up

exactly - I was being sarcastic in response to ANTKB's point. he's a young lad who's just come in to a new league he is obviously going to need time and a decent amount of minutes, not just 10 mins here & there. I hope after spending that amount on him we do actually give him a chance

He’s that good his goal scoring record in chumps to div 2 teams is nearly 1 in every 4 games, and even Preston loaned him out! Don’t get the signing at all and he will be sold within 1 or 2 seasons back to a chumps side. I was also right about Reece Burke and got stick, still not in our first team and getting slaughtered now by Bolton fans for his performances! Hate to say I told you so but I did and I am now x

Highly rated in the championship will probably be ok for all but the top 6 Premiership teams when he will be lucky to get a look in. So ok for West Ham where we look for mid table every year especially since SUGO and Bradey took over. Sullivan is at it again saying an overhaul of the transfer system will see the manager having final say etc, etc,
So expect more of the same as cheapies will keep coming in and he carries on lying about marquee signings that do not really exist.
West Ham unfortunately like most of the premiership teams can only dream of doing a Leicester but 7th or 8th is probably the best the rest as well as West Ham can reach.

Always said mate, I call it as I see it. Do I think they lie? No. Do I think they got caught in there own unrealistic expectations? Yes. When they do something poor i'll call them out on it when they do something good i'll give them credit. I dont get all there only in it for the money etc criticism.. if that was true it would be in there best interest for the club to do well. Its why I like Farehams views one of the few people to give a balanced view on things even when hes board out.

but there are many that believe the move to the L.S was what is was about. You sell U.P you rent the O.S for peanuts, and you say we're looking to get loans etc? does that add up to you? we;ve got the what is it 3rd biggest gates now or something? yet all we can muster is a loan for mario and 10 mill on huggil. you tell me then mate, how much money do you think has gone to G&S since the move?

up
4 users have voted.

There earning less from the club now then when they were when we were at UP since they cut the interest on the loans in half. They never said moving was gonna take us to the next level straight away. This is why I said they don't manage expectations well. Where do you expect us to come up with 40 mill + 130k + 3 million agent fee etc.. for mario in january. We sign players, and no free or loan has no fees involved. We have the 7th highest wage bill in england, also Moyes only wanted players he had seen play. The board get moaned ta for signing Hugill but he was who Moyes wanted?

up
4 users have voted.

They said we would be in the top 6 in 5/6 years,Gold said we wont move if the seats in the O.S are further away from the pitch than at the boleyn, sullivan said we will never have London on our badge, brady said a world class team in a world class stadium, i could go on all night, the list is endless!!expectation or bullshit??

up
8 users have voted.

No they didnt. Gold actually said that before we had to rebid for the OS which people constantly overlook. Sullivan actually said we will never be called West Ham London, which we aren't, the stadium is a world class stadium, again lie or unrealistic ambition + your usual misquotes. The problem is, Sullivan says we want to try qualify for the champions league within the next 5 years, apparently thats a promise, its not. Also lets not forget that in our last season at the Boleyn we very much could have got champions league if it wasnt for poor refereeing and idiocy from bilic.

fred, you do realise that you are probably believing their hype? earning less now than when at U.P? you seriously want us to believe that?? lol, sorry mate, if you expect me to believe that they moved from U.P to L.S to 'earn less', theres no chance. they cut the interest on the loans? do you have the details of that? are they their own personal loans, or company loans? either way the slash in interest equates to more freed cash. not sure about you, but I'm not privy to the original financial deals that were done, who's money went where and for what….but theres no way you can convince me they are earning less. hug ill is not the issue, yes we can sign him, but where are the others? moyes stated over and over he wanted a MIDFIELDER even when he already got Mario. and why is it you think we can't afford 40 mill? ayew went for 20, sakho 5, 7th highest wage bill? but we offloaded sakho, ayew from the wage bill? 3rd biggest intake in gates and 7th highest wage bill? sounds to me there should be money to spend.

Read the accounts mate, don't understand why people seem to think the club has money to burn. We don't hve oil rich owners, we have owners that are valued at 1bn due to there assets, us included. This means that our cub has to be self sustaining, all that supposed money we earn covers, helps cover transfer fees, debts, player wages, agent fees, tax, national insurance, staff wages, directors wages, bonuses, Karren Brady is the one who said the interest had been cut to just over 3%. Marios wage is more then sakhos and ayews combined. Moyes also stated he wasn't going to sign players he hasnt personally watched so why would he sanction a 40 million transfer for a player that he doesn't know will do the job he wants not only that a club like us can't afford to take 40 million pound gambles. 3rd biggest gates?, but we sell some season tickets for only £99. So far the only money they have ever taken out the club according to the accounts is from interest on loans which is there right considering the state the club was in when they had to actually pump money in. I don't believe there hype. I'd happily see them leave if someone better comes along but I don't see that happening any time soon because we haven't become a big enough 'brand' yet. The board can't win, in the summer 90% of the fan base were happy with our summer window but felt we needed one more player but also wanted it to be the right player. In January there getting blamed for a poor summer window, and its all there fault that we're in the relegation zone with a top 8 squad. They aren't perfect, and they definitely love the PR but as I said before, why would they try ruin the club but also are only in it for the money? It can't work both ways.

Shelvey who newcastle wouldnt sell? Allen who stoke were never going to sell us after the Arnie situation and Cairney form Fulham who was injured at the time and fulham wanted to charge 40 million for him>?

We won’t attract the best players as long as these people run our club. What business do you know that allows children to promote its affairs and the board members to publically criticise their own staff members? They changed the ground, the identity, local businesses and they couldn’t give a shite about what us fans really want.

up
5 users have voted.

That's the biggest problem, they are probably the least professional owners in the Prem history. I'm sure most have differing ideas on what's going on at the club and what needs to be put right but it all leads to their lack of professionalism. So in my opinion there are only 2 ways to move forward one is to get out and the second is to take a back seat to people who have a more professional approach to things. For me all 3 think they can do things that they are out of their depth at. Trouble is Sullivan won't relinquish control because he micro manages everything. It's nothing but blind faith to think he has learnt his lessons. There is nothing whatsoever to suggest he has. Brady goes on about being custodians of the club rather than owners don't act like it! Take for example the badge, even that they dictated to us what they were having. As custodians they should have left it open for designs and consulted the then season ticket holders on what they wanted or didn't want.
