Options at last, happy for Bilic

Firstly I'm not going to arse lick the owners, they've eventually backed the manager today although why that couldn't have happened 2 months ago only they know, personally I think business needs to be done early so that pre season is a time for bedding in, hopefully they'll hit the ground running. More importantly we've made some decent signings that have at last given us some options and some much needed width in the squad....you could say a squad big enough for a European campaign but we won't talk about that.
Just wondering who you all think will be the strongest starting 11 from this squad we've built, I think midfield is going to be interesting, plenty of competition there now so whoever gets the shirt is going to have to play well to keep it, far different from the competition we've had in recent years, so what's your best line up?

Lol.
We have got Payet ( who really does look the business), Ogbonna ( who looks as if he could be a massive improvement on Collins) Obiong ( who still comes into the potential ranks) and have added 2 genuine wide players who we have all been screaming for. Throw in a striker who has Prem credentials and hopefully Carroll and Valencia to back the superb looking good. And there's still Lanzini to consider. Irrespective of any bodies personal slant on the owners if you add these players and consider we have got rid of 2 bits of absolute deadwood in Nolan and Maiga I certainly am 1 happy Hammer tonight.

I agree, I'm happy tonight but I'd have been happier if we were in this position 2 weeks before the season started, I'm sure they've got their reasons for that and perhaps I'm being unfair but at least when we start our fifth league game we've got a decent starting 11 and strong subs so the season starts from now for me

Who would have signed these players 4/5 weeks ago.

Bilic?

Sugo?!

In the ideal world you are right.

Unfortunately football is a million miles from that.

Just for the record do you think Chelsea have boobed with the timing of their signings?

Man Udt?

City with De Bruyne?!

I think Man U and Chelsea are in a state of panic, City added more quality but they have started well so less pressure to spend money, perhaps I'm wrong but I don't see much to fear from going to Old Trafford this season, back 4 and keeper very suspect, midfield still not strong enough to compete for silverware

Doesnt everybody panic to a certain degree mate?!

Totally get your point about "getting the business done early" as in the ideal world thats what would happen but in the modern day game with competitions all year (World Cups, Copa Americas,European Champs,African Nations etc) and players needing breaks after it then when you throw in Chairmen hanging on for better offers and Agents doing the same it cant actually be easy to conclude a deal!!!

25/30 years ago you only had to meet Harry at the Service station, haggle on the back of a fag packet and pass the envelope over!!!

Personally I blame the smoking ban.....the transfer market seemed to change indeterminately when they tok away their negotiating venues and materials!!!!!!

I'm a bit the same regarding Moses, has been loaned out a few times now, Pool didn't go back in for him and I didn't hear that Stoke did either so wait and see I suppose, loan deals never excite me, I think they're more suited to newly promoted clubs trying not to spend too much, doesn't give clubs like ours any continuity IMO

"It will be interesting to see how he fares in the Premier League. I remember thinking during his run of form last year that he has very little footballing ability - quite often, the ball will simply bounce off him and to the opposition. But, he's a very impressive athlete. He's ridiculously strong and fast, when he gets moving he doesn't stop. He has improved during his time here, although he can still be frustrating. He can also earn wins and draws out of nothing. Hard to tell whether he's really good or not, to be honest. Sometimes, he's both. I guess 7m's not a lot of money nowadays, anyway."

I read a few things about him last night, some saying he's the best thing since Stan Collymore, others saying his first touch is awful, loses the ball too easily etc, etc. on the plus side the goals I've seen him score makes him a better option than Jarvis so hopefully it's good business

Yeah, as West Ham fans the first thing we want is somebody who gives 100%, who puts their heart into it, he seems to be that sort of player; and mistakes, or not being the most skilled player can be forgiven if the guy plays with his heart on his sleeve. I've seen his style compared to Marlon's: can make cock-ups, but can also score blinders... that'll do for me if so it proves.
