hearing that he is stalling on a new deal and mourinho has been on the phone to him now as well. seems to me Bilic doesnt want him which is disappointing. he's got talent yet we don't want to play him….do we expect him to sign a new deal with this in mind?

He has been courted by the 'big' teams for a while now... if a player wants to go they will go, but we need to be holding onto our young talent and our quality players if we want to build the club status... I think he should be given more playing time but Bilic has been right to be cauitous about bringing him into the squad - remember him v Lukaku? The kid needs to be patient, rushing off to united ismt neccessarily going to gurantee he is a success, look at pogba!

Good post .. I'm a big Oxford fan anyway .. Imagine how he must have been feeling sitting watching those shambolic last 2 games "imo" he is easily good enough to at least feature during matches if not even start also .. I also like young Fletcher !

Okay, lets put a few things straight, the real reaso nhe hasnt signed a new deal is because we can't offer him a long term pro deal until hes 18. If he was to sign a new deal now it would expire at the same time as his old one as theres a 2 year limit. Next, now i get why everyone wants him to play. Heck i think he should get a shot now, but there is a time and a place and in my opinion why he has obvious talent people are overlooking the fact hat hes not at a stage to be fully ready physically. In europa he had a good game against Domzale but then against a much better team in Astra he was bullied all game and while he didnt play to bad the lack of physical edge was plain to see. Now yes he needs to get more game time but I don't think throwing him in to a makeshift defence against big strikers like rondon(look at wat happened last season vs lukaku) is the best way to go about it.

Fred makes a good point about Oxford being bullied. The likes of Lukaku destroy him. On the flip side, I don't think Rio was much different in stature when he 1st started but he didn't turn out too bad.
Personally, I would've thrown him in against West Brom but it wasn't up to me

Me too, I think he has more about him than to just get bullied, Tomkins quite often got bullied in his early days but I think Oxford is more clever than that. I suppose the trouble is if he makes changes and doesn't see an improvement where does he go from there, is he better to stick with what he considers to be his best 11 and get through this situation, not saying that's what I would do but it's not my knackers on the chopping block.

Coz the complimentary seats on Wednesday were not good enough! Shame their son couldn't afford £10 and chose a better seat, on 5K a week, my heart bleeds for him and them. Great potential apparently. Seen him play one game against Arsenal where he was solid and the following week taken off at half time. I say sell him now, take the cash and Lady Brady sort out a decent sell on clause. he wont be missed coz Slav never played him :o)
