Gutted for the lad... someone on here said he was in tears when it happened. A cruel blow to end his season before it even started! Anyone got any info on whether it was a malicious challenge?

I was hoping that his season would go well and he'd prove me wrong. Our long years of trying to find the right man upfront continue as all our strikers have either been not good enough, not consistent enough or have suffered too many injuries. Feel for the lad I was expectin 10 PL goals from him this season.

So now we're looking for 2 strikers, I think Berbatov would be worth a gamble, great vision and ability, I know he's getting on but has never had to rely on pace or strength in his game, would be on the same wavelength as Payet

why didn't we go for Gestede or Lambert? Low value signings and both are currently fit so would have slotted in and added competition! Gestede got over 20 goals in the Chumps last season and caused Liverpool problems in the cup ties, they struggled to cope with him. Lambert plays tonight after only signing 3 hours prior and bangs in 2 goals! It may be Bristol Rovers but look at the teams we have played in the Europa! Shite teams!

One small piece of hope, Julian has tweeted that the injury doesn't look as bad as first thought... whatever that means. Might just mean it's 6 months out rather than 9!
