Well he had to prove that dinosaurs still exist and he did so! Jack 'wilted' , not much of a surprise given the fact that he had played less than TWO full games in an entire season, and the rest unravelled. Well done Roy, you have also helped ruin a lot of Pub landlords hopes of keeping their businesses afloat by ensuring England will not progress past the quarter finals, and even that achievement is in doubt.

I think Roy had a fair idea what he wanted until the Spurs players and Vardy came along. Now he doesn't know what he wants. He underestimated Slovakia. Should put out your best team every day unless your'e playing Iceland..........well maybe not Iceland the way they're playing, you know what I mean.

Slovakia parked the bus and England failed to get past it. It's a group stage typical match just look at most of the results nearly all tight games. We have progressed to the last 16 probably against Hungary and then France in the quarter finals in all probability.
Teams will have to come at us now to win and we in my estimation have good enough players to beat anyone from Hungary's group including Portugal.
I said we would struggle to get out of the group but still make it on here months ago and so it has been proved.................now the real competition starts and looking at England and the attacking way we try to play I still say the semi final is possible and even progressing to the final with a little luck.
None of the teams have impressed me so far and that's because all have been playing to not lose.
England are better than many of you think. Even Slaven Bilic thinks we have a chance!!!
Still semi's for me though in reality......................we shall see :-)

Picking four players from a team that vastly under-achieved this season didn't help. Jack Wiltshire was total crap from the time he walked onto the pitch to the time he walked off the pitch. Every time Henderson or Rooney or Dyer or whoever had the ball in shooting range, l found myself saying Don't shoot, you'll miss. I thought Adam Lallana was playing okay, so let's take him off. Smalling is a bad joke. Rooney was/is awful, I'm better than Sturridge, Henderson oh dear oh dear oh dear and as for the Manager, wow, who got him the job? I'm so glad there's no West Ham involved in this farce.

England didn't have something different to break Slovakia down. That's down to the squad that was picked. Antonio, Carroll and cresswell would all have given England different options that so far would have been a breath of fresh air to our play. Ok they parked the bus that made it hard for us to break down but as the oppo gets better our defence will get exposed dramatically! They haven't been put under pressure much at all yet on the odd occasion they have they look Sunday league. Our play is far too slow on build up so easy to defend against. Personally apart from the odd few things England haven't impressed me at all! They have never played as well as media says.

Mental isnt it, we're the only team in the top 8 without a player in the squad, and I would say our english players were probably the most in form out of all of them. All this BS about all the different strikers he had, and there all the same! Must strike fear in to the other teams knowing Overrated Kane is coming on for One season wonder vardy. Nobody will convince me Rose and Bertrand are better Cresswell, Antonio is plain and simply the best english winger in the league and for all his haters nobody will convince me Noble isnt better then Henderson, Milner and an Unfit wilshere. Bet we'd play 100x better because your taking players who are in form and fit. Had enough of all these people telling me how well england are playing. We've been dog shit, absolute toilet. Also West Ham were one of the highest scoring teams last season with 3 of our highest scorers being Noble, Antonio and Carroll, lets see a Quality penalty taker who not only can win the ball but distribute effectively ans has good link up play, Antonio a out and out winger who is a goal threat is rapid and strong as an ox and can do something out of nothing and Carroll a strong target man who can cause havoc and gives you something to aim crosses at 3 things we completely lack. Laughable isnt it we started playing long balls and crosses aimlessly without anyone in the box to attack them!

Absolutely Fred, Picking an unfit (and crap) Henderson and Wiltshire who played about 170 minutes of Premier League football last season. I mean who makes these decisions? I also agree Kane really isn't all that. I want to support England at this Euro 2016, but I just can't. I want rid of Hodgson and if England putting on these dreadful displays and getting knocked out does it, then so be it. Why DO these commentators, pundits and whoever say we're playing so well? Yes we had loads of the ball against Slovakia, but running up to their penalty area, stopping, then passing sideways or backwards doesn't score goals. We had only a few minutes left and continued to pass sideways. Well I don't know what to do with it so I'll give it to you, see if you can do anything with it or, I can hoof it out to the general direction of the wing, oops I kicked it too hard, it's gone out. Utter crap.

I have to agree with Fred and Timmy post. There is nothing about England that will scare the top teams in this comp. we have played no one and yet only had a last minute win against Wales due to poor goalkeeping! We have a poor defence in which we need their width to attack giving us no width when we play someone decent unless we play 2 at the back! We have next to no creativity. Like Tim says we are playing like we have run out of ideas! Maybe the ideas are all the same as we picked a team that has one string to its bow? Antonio running at defenders would scare the sh1t out of teams! Gota laugh as I just heard on the news that England are in the same half of the draw as Germany, Spain and Italy! Doubt they will beat either of them.

Unfortunately we now have to play Iceland who we will again have to try and break down as they will defend on mass and are good at it. As we lack the special player that can do something like our beloved Payet does for France I can see us getting knocked out by the single goal.

Harry we maybe able to get through them staying compact if we only moved the ball a lot quicker and more deceive ala the Swiss in the second half v Poland. But not playing the slow backward football that England insist on playing this tourno. Strangely enough IMO a lot of the best teams are playing a game more akin the our premiership games! Only England would be so far behind that they play a slow European game whilst every other decent team is playing OUR way! Rolls eyes.

well said Harry, for Iceland this is like a final and will give 100%; It will not be easy for England. Also because how I play we are short of ideas and we have who can invent and settle the match

Good thing about England going out early is the West Ham players can come back from the euros and get some rest. Oops!

Gotta love this comment and be tankful that Roy the toy didn't tarnish our players good names "England's credibility was destroyed and the reputation of every player whose hand and boot was imprinted on this national embarrassment will be tainted forever" Nuff said

I really thought we finally stood a chance this time round going in with a 100% record and what does Hodgeson do??? Changes training, changes the successful formation and makes six changes twice, no wonder we lost against Iceland. I just sat and watched in bewilderment as all three (Hodgeson, Neville and Lewington) failed to get up and give any encouragement to the team. One pundit said he thought Roy Hodgeson was making it up as he went from one bad game to the next.
No consistency was the reason and failure to keep to the same team before the tournament started and during it!
A very very sad day for English football. As for the Welsh celebrations as England wimped out it does not happen that often so let them have their one day of joy we will be back unlike the Welsh who in my opinion will not see another major tournament for another 50 odd years and will get beaten in all probability in the quarter finals.
