West Ham Fans Born to be Claret and Blue

We didn't want to dignify another 'act of tapping up', so we haven't given much space, in fact we haven't given any, that would give gravitas to the scurrilous rumours surrounding Hammers 'Diamond Geezer' Yossi Benayoun and a possible move to Liverpool. There are two aspects to examine here, firstly, Yossi arrived at West Ham by a very strange route, he is actually owned by Redsox and Chelska's old pal Pini Zahavi, you know, the one who also has a piece of Rio Ferdinad. So it is written that Benayoun will eventually move on, at a high price, and for a massive pay back to his management(not club), but this will not happen yet. Expect to see the diminutive Israeli at the Boleyn for at least one, more likely, two seasons, however if next season goes badly his owners, not the player himself, will ensure that he is off to sunnier climes. It's a percentage thing really, another godd season and Benayoun's value will rocket from a current £5-6 Million to in excess of £10 Million plus possibly a whole lot more! Secondly, and more importantly, the player himself is happy at West Ham, and so long as the Board really have taken on board lessons from the past and re-invest, will continue to be happy. The Liverpool rumours are just part of the 'cranking' of his value as a precursor to his eventual sale, whenever that eventually is. So, there you have it, no need to panic, Yossi is staying. You might be annoyed that it is already on the cards that he will be going in a couple of seasons, but that is the way of the football world. Think of it this way, West Ham have benefited from the services of an outstanding player at a cut price cost, essentially being sponsored by a management company, so eventually pay back time will come. Let's just hope it is later rather than sooner!
