Anderson-Haller-Lanzini All Touted

It is common knowledge that if David Moyes wants to build his West Ham United side the way he wants it, he will have to sell before he can buy, the obvious issues are that the Irons do not have that many players coveted by other teams other than the club's 'jewels in the crown' Declan Rice and Grady Diangana.

The club has seen the value of all the other 'expensive imports acquired during the profligacy of the Pellegrini era drop like a Stone (excuse pun), pre covid-19 Felipe Anderson, Sebastian Haller and Manuel Lanzini had a collective value of around £100 Million, that amount has now been halved as a combined result of the pandemic's effect on football finances and the players complete loss of form.

For a club like West Ham with it's limited resources, having both Anderson and Lanzini as 'creative maestros' is a luxury the club simply cannot afford, furthermore both players have suffered a catastrophic loss of performance. Lanzini has never been anywhere near the dazzling player he once was ever since being severely injured pursuing his dream of training with the Argentine national team.

Felipe Anderson was an exciting prospect when he first arrived from Lazio for a £36 Million fee eventually rising to £42 Million, unfortunately the then manager Manuel Pellegrini began playing Anderson out of position in order to play 'progressive football', and we all know how that ended up don't we? This season, again forced to play out of position, Anderson still tried to put a shift in until being on the receiving end of what should have been a red card tackle while playing against Sheffield United, the fact that El Pel had used all his subs meant that Anderson had to play the remaining minutes while he could barely walk, he has never been the same player since then!

Finally we come to the great hope that was Seb Haller, massively overpriced and a massive under achiever, acquired for an eye watering £45 Million, most of which had to be paid up front, no wonder Eintrecht Frankfurt were so insistent on the up front factor because they knew how much they had 'mugged' West Ham with the player sale. Haller has looked disinterested and out of sorts almost since his debut for the Irons, he has had family issues to deal with, but those issues aren't responsible for him falling over like Bambi when 'confronted' with an 'average' Barclays Premier League tackle!

Monaco are showing an interest in Haller, Messi wants Lanzini to be his 'play mate' at Barca or where ever he ends up and finally Napoli are interested in Anderson as are the club West Hama acquired him from, Lazio. Unfortunately Lanzini is the only member of the trio who West Ham don't owe any money for, it is believed £20 Million is still owed from Anderson's transfer and £6 Million form Haller's.

Essentially if West Ham sell Anderson back to Lazio David Moyes will NOT receive additional funding although the club would be saving on wages, if anyone is stupid to pay full whack for Haller then Moyes would receive the funds he so desperately wants to rebuild with. Privately Moyes must be fuming that he hasn't got a 'pot to piss in' compared to the five star luxuries afforded his predecessor Pellegrini.

In an ideal world all three players would be sold and Moyes given the money, but we do not live in an ideal world, particularly during these unique times, so Moyes will have to make do with the meagre budget he receives or generates. - Ed

Not a pot to piss in,that is all too familiar to this club, get rid of them, sharpish i say, save on the wages, they were not missed in the run in,and we played the best football for a long time without them, whoever is interested in them get what we can,and show them the door.

The past is exactly that, past. It doesn't matter what price you paid for a player, he is only worth what another club is willing to pay. We need to sell those we don't need, to reduce the wage bill, then look for reasonably priced, young talent. No more paying over the odds for dodgey has-beens.

I blame the whole system.Theres Sugo going,i think we will do this, then,no i think we will do that, then, hang on i think we will do this instead, they had Moyes, then they had Pellegrini, and then they went full circle and brought Moyes back.In the mean time players have come in with big price tags, and have looked at the club and found it wasnt what they expected, they must of been playing at a certain standard as Pellegrini surely wouldnt of brought them, but they sure are not playing no where near a premier league standard now,as you say are they bad players, probably not,but they dont want to play for us now.Its the whole system from top to bottom that is the problem. In my opinion Moyes is the best thing we have at the moment,he will sort it lets hope he is left to do it,get rid of the those not wanting to be here, and get players that want to,no big time Joe,but players that are up for it,Just look at Wolves,no big names but they play as a team.

Blimey nev,how do they get away with it mate, that Hussilos came in for criticism for his transfer selections in a season that ended in relegation for Malaga, and then pelle has the front to bring him here, that should have been a red flag for the board straight away.

Hindsight is a wonderful quality we wish we all had, let alone club owners! While I dislike the owners I cannot blame them for failing with Pellegrini, unfortunately they backed a busted flush who's best years as a manager were fast approaching their end. He was backed, even if it is hard to admit it, and after the first few games of the season I remember well that 'fans' were accusing the board of penny pinching because they hadn't offered Pellegrini a new extended contract, well at least that was one bullet the club dodged, as they say, "be careful what you wish for!".

You are right there Nev,that should be the clubs saying,Be Careful What You Wish For,us fans should be singing it in the stands,we have come up against it so many times,in fact its a job now to know what way to turn, wish or hope for.
