Beautiful team goal. Nice to see we are not sitting back, that we are still getting forward when we can. Let’s get a second and put this one to bed.

We have to come out for the second half!.......can Benni be disciplined for another 45/49 mins and help Emerson out with Saka and Odegarrd....Arsenal moved it quick a couple of times around our box and we got lucky..lets hope that holds

I reckon this is our best centre back pairing. Sure Ogbonna made a mistake that nearly led to Saka scoring but he also made a goal saving tackle at the end of the half. Anyway the other two clowns are always good for a couple of howlers each per game. The Greek is growing in confidence every game.

Oggy MOTM for me, followed closely by Areola. But I’m trying to think who has had a bad game for us tonight? Everyone has put their body on the line when required.

Very proud of them ,every single one ,100% commitment, even my mate Soucec was good.
One word of warning though we've got to strengthen that bench ,Benny &, Fornals ,our two main subs ,have gone stale ,no disrespect to them , it's sad but true unfortunately.

Who could have guessed not this score but the result as well? Watched the first twenty minutes with Brighton going two up against Spuds and then switched to the the Arsenal v West Ham game, and wow, for once everything went according to the Hammers script!! :)

Got to give a big credit to Ogbonna who was rock solid like his former self before he got injured. Mavrapanos has really grown when given game time and great to see him score against his former club, while a certain I believe his name is Rice could not repeat that feat!!

Looking at the past 5 games in the Premier League Table, only Bournemouth have a better record with 13 points. West Ham are second with 12 points. As I said, let us look at the positivity of what Moyes has brought. We all know that some games are bitterly disappointing. But for the positive ones this one was definitely the icing on the cake!!

You hope its going to be as good as advertised then you see who is in it and think God its going to be a disaster only for it to be even better than you could ever hope

I love reading the comments on here.... lol! all doom and gloom before a ball is kicked and the last 3 league games have shown why David Moyes is West Ham manager and not the majority of us.
Tactics spot on, Arsenal faffing about and that makes is easier to defend. Arteta about to be committed..(just how does he constantly get away with running out of his technical area?) Saka and Jesus vying for the Tom Daly dive of the year award. I have read some really stupid comments on BBC HYS from Gooner fans about the first goal... am I right in that not a single Arsenal player claimed Bowens pass was out of play. Anyway right now I am delighted to be a West Ham fan! Love you all, hope you had a great Christmas and god bless you all for the New Year (2024 inclusive) xx

Merry Christmas and a happy hogmanay! Lets hope its a successful 2024 for West Ham!!

I think if we are really honest we were fortunate with the win, two great goals and should have scored the pen but Im not beating up on Benny, he has come good in the past from the spot. Arsenal had some great chances which on another day they would have converted but like you I am really enjoying the moment!!

That narrowly avoided relegation last season and is only still in a job because we scraped a win in a tin pot Europe Cup mainly against League Two comparable teams. This is the same manager that whilst delighting us with a win against Goons also got stuffed by Fulham and Liverpool with some unbelievable team selections and tactics. This is the same manager, whilst not denying our current nose bleed position in the table is boring the living crap out of most fans with football that is actually worse than watching paint dry, There are West Ham fans out there I accept, that are happy with a win no matter how it is achieved and at what cost. I'm not one of them and thank God I relieved myself of my season ticket becuase I'd be complaining to the advertising standards board.. It says something Plaistow, that you only got back over the last three games. I'm going back over the last horrendous three and a half years of watching that s**t. Yes, we're all over the moon at that result but lets not let it gloss over the dross we've had to put up with for that one.....or two results
Happy New Year to you buddy :)

Always appreciate the other side to an argument, personally I’m still undecided, I hate Moyesball but think top half of table and a cup run is fair by our standards. One other point you missed .. Moyes lack of using the best youth set up we have had in decades!

Its weird argument tbh. U beat the teams you are drawn against. There are clubs that wud love to win that trophy. We win it, and people try and put it down as worthless. Utterly ridiculous imo

and like you have been a fan for decades and this is the so called west ham way up and flying high one minute and down the next that's football as we know it . a cup win is a cup win even if its a small plastic one still nice to win just ask the spuds ha ha

I've been barracking and taking the proverbial out of my mates for their teams playing in the Thursday Europe Cup. So I would be a massive hypocrite if I suddenly started lauding our win over what isn't just a Thursday Cup but a second rate Thursday Cup for teams that can't quite win the proper Thursday Cup

If you support a club you support it in whatever happens, you may not agree with how things get managed,or how the team plays, but you still support the club,we struggled last season in the league, but its certainly been turned round this one, credit has to be given, those that keep finding fault or dont see the positives dont support or are West Ham anymore, and have lost the way to adapt and appreciate who we are,if we won the league and champions league, some still wouldnt be happy, and would find something to gripe on about, probably that the groundsman dont cut the grass right with cheap mowers, there will be something without doubt.

Have to take issue with you Essex. I have followed West Ham since 1975. I've supported them through the not so many good times. And for most. The bad times.
Not taking anything away from Moyes. But last season was a case of right cup competition at the right time. It was a steering job & in truth we did not have to beat much to lift the trophy. But hey. It's a trophy and i'm over the moon with that. As a consequence of winning that trophy. Our league form suffered and our football was dire.
This season has not been much better but somehow we find ourselves in the lifty position of 6th & the last 16 of the Europa League. We should not really complain but! Myself and quite a few others find watching Moyes brand of football bloody painful. Could he not find another way of playing football and naintain his current success. Something slightly better on the eye (and the heart). He has the tools in Bowen, Kudus, Paqueta, JWP etc.
Just because we have an opinion which goes against the grain. It does not mean we are not supporters. We are passionate. To quote a legend on here. It's a way of life.

I've been a supporter since '65 and been going to games since '67. We've got some good players out there so excuse me for finding fault with the dross of football being dished up. There really is no excuse for it.
