Huge Relief All Round

Jordan Hugill has completed his permanent move, for an undisclosed fee from West Ham United to newly relegated Norwich City. The forward has signed a three year deal that will keep him at Carrow Road, where he is expected to flourish, in to his thirties.

Never really given a fair crack of the whip, the amiable frontman by his own admission is a Championship player, it is a league he knows well, and one that physically he is able to cope with easily. Having been loaned out to Middlesbrough and then QPR, Hugill will embrace the family atmosphere at the East coast and is a player that Daniel Farke has been keen on acquiring for a while.

Previously, Hugill's not inconsiderable wages had been a stalling point for interested parties, but the Canaries decided to pull the trigger ahead of the player's other suitors in order to get their man. A decent fellow, Hugill is unlikely to provide any 'snipes' aimed at the Irons, unlike fellow striker Albian Ajeti who has been quick to 'mouth off' following his transfer to Celtic.

Hugill's 'panic purchase' from Preston North End to West Ham was made at a time when the club was in serious danger of relegation to the Championship, but once the club had secured top flight status, Hugill began the first of his 'loan spells'.

We wish him all the best and are sure he will do well for Norwich City and their excellent fans, he will probably help get them promoted at the first attempt and then come and score a brace at the London Stadium for them! It's the West Ham way..Ed
