Don't let him near our box he can't defend we all know that yet put him up the pitch and suddenly you have a player who can put in a good cross and does not have a bad touch and can pick a pass..Against the gooners he was one of the best players on the park Saturday night just what do we do with him? he's up for sale yet not a sniff of a buyer..will Moyes keep him as an attacking option because as a defensive one he's a nightmare.....after his Spitting incident at Wigan i wanted this man gone....nothing worse than that but he has got his head down worked hard and not moaned about basically being a squad player so what should we do about this Enigma?

We all said it from the start
Absolute liability at left back, but stick him on the wing & you have a decent player

But how did he evolve as a left back ,back in the day when a player defines his position on a football pitch ,i agree with eltham ,put him in a central mid- field atacking role, give him the ball and let him off ,he has the potential to cause havoc ,would be great for Ant to feed off him

Simple,keep him and use him
Simple, keep him and use him in the area he performs best, all this using players out of position is just a recipe for disaster.

Never really liked him if I'm
Never really liked him if I'm honest...when he's on the wing he often runs out of pitch on his runs...and No Thanks at LB...and the spitting incident...were I manager he'd have gone like a shot...that's just inexcusable.

well now
Arthur is now one of the first names on the team sheet his pace footwork and ability to put in decent crosses all proving how hard this man has worked to make him a first choice....some of his passing yesterday was sublime if Silva had hit that raking 60 yard pass Hoddle would still be going on about it today...

He is a decent player
Also for once when he had to defend he was very good, under - rated with a lot of skill & can put a decent cross in,though stay up the field Arthur that's your best position

I think he is better up front
I think he is better up front going forward, than at the back,it wasnt that long ago it was spoke about getting rid of him, what a sin that would of been.

He defended tremendously well
He defended tremendously well against Man City. Also carrying the ball forward with his wizardry somehow baffled the Man City players. Would retain him in that role for now as he and Cresswell seem to bond well as a pair. Otherwise they seem out of odds defensively if the whole system is changed, to have only either of them as a left back on their own.

As an attacking player
I really rate him and think he has bags of ability, would like to see more of him but not defending....
