So Adebayor and Levy fail to reach agreement to end the Togo forward's contract. Apparently Adebayor wanted his final year paid up in full -- 5 million quid freebie in effect -- and Levy wasn't having it! So now Tottenham have to pay 100k a week for a player their manager has no intention of playing. Allegedly Adebayor was desperate to come here and play football, but not desperate enough to lose a red cent to bring that about. Personally I'm glad we haven't signed the bloke, he might have scored a few goals in his first few weeks, but his record shows he always then goes cold, and at what cost to team morale?

They are a fine pair, and I hope they have many more happy years together!!!

I think people are wise to Levy at last & starting to play him at his own game or not wanting to do business at all! Loving it

Got to question a player who has basically sat on the bench for years without yearning to play at this stage of his career. Why on earth would we entertain the hope of signing someone like that on such a big wage? To me he doesn't wat to play and there is no better club to take the money fron than Spurs! Hope they offer him a new contract

Have you got the Southampton manager on your Christmas card list too? He played a blinder resisting Levy's attempts to force a move for Victor Wanyama and didn't budge when offered Andros Townsend and Erik Lamela as part of the deal. That's two more Spud players who will be feeling really valued by their club this morning...

Im also glad he never came ,it cant be all about money there has to be loyalty , integrety and a need to belong ,this crazy. Transfere market where a teenager can be worth 30 or 40 million is killing the game

I agree, it's obscene use of money. And that Martial deal might rise to 58 million, all for a boy who is unproven, and actually scored only a dozen goals in 2 seasons with Monaco... Manure's owners must have money to burn: they didn't even sneeze at losing 20 million on Di Maria.

Baffled is the right word Dicksy. LVG must be SO intelligent none of we mortals can work out what he's thinking. Either that or he's a mad as a box of frogs.......actually his face LOOKS like a box of frogs!!! :-) The way he is spending, if he doesn't win something right smartish I can see him also getting the bullet at the end of the season.
