Rice! Should he stay or should he go?

Submitted by Enfieldhammer on Tue, 21/07/2020 - 17:55

Been thinking a lot about the future of Declan Rice & West Ham Utd.
As good as he is are we really going to be able to keep him in the Claret & Blue? For me it's just a question of when & the best deal that can be achieved. At present Chelsea look favourites & to be honest if we can get Berklay & £50m I would bite their hand off. Don't want any other of their dross.
£50m would go a long way to fill a few holes we need filling.

Would be captain for years, but its the real world & he is an asset that the dildos know they can get serious money for

Of course eventually he will and if we got offered £75million you have to take it because players are always one bad tackle away from a career ending injury....as for Barkley i'd much rather have Loftus Cheek and Hudson Adoi...but because of the quick turn around i think he will still be with us for another season.

I think we will probably have him for another season, they should offer him a great contract if he is enticed by bigger prospects, and if he turns that down well that is that, the modern footballer has no friends just ego and big bills to pay.

Now come on,i know the money would go along way to help in areas, but if we are going to progress as a football team, and not expanding a Welk Stall,we need to keep all our best players.

Rice has been a revelation post lockdown. Showed his true qualities and leadership too. Cant sell him yet and I for one don't want to anyway...

Theses days should be behind us selling our crown jewels, ain't the board done enough damage.they should thank there lucky stars we ain't in the championship, got out of it by a whisker, that's saved em tons of money, we need to build a team around a future captain and make it stronger not weaker.

Everyone is arguing as to what's best for West Ham. Let's turn the debate on its head for a minute and ask what's best for young Declan? Leave the emotions to one side does he want to stay at a club who's best ambitions are 17th place and survival?
No, I think it's up to the board to make a bold statement and say "you want to play in Europe and win trophies, then you can do that at West Ham"
Here is our five year plan to build a team around Declan, our one world class player.
They should make him want to stay.

Problem is we overspent under Pelligrini and David Sullivan put in an additional £35M as well. Sullivan is currently out of pocket David Gold not so worried apparently. No fans till October at least and not much income from season ticket sales as they will be reduced. So David Sullivan will possibly sell to Chelsea and talk of £80M as a starting price has been mentioned. It would not surprise me if we took £50m plus a player or two and then enter Man City who want to offload players and a counter offer from Chelsea who Frank wants to change as well.
I reckon we will sell him to balance the books as much as we can and get a half decent replacement from Chelsea or Man City.
