See my post on the match. It was Antonio's graft that did the most difficult work of shifting the momentum. All things considered, though, I still think Payet nicks it for the goal + assist.

Cant wait to have a fit full squad, will be very difficult to pick a first team, cant remember being so pleased with the team and the energy. I was shouting at the box for him to change Valencia, good job he did not listen to me. COUI

For a while Enner did not really seem in the game. His passing was poor and he was dispossessed too easily. But when it really mattered he came through, and hopefully that will give him more confidence now.

Great result, loss of Carroll early on disrupted our attacking dominance but done well in the 2nd half to win the game. Sublime finish from Payet from the spot kick lifted everyones spirits and Enner Valencia looked like the striker we knew pre-injury... Jelavic was anonymous again and was unsure of the Tomkins sub initially as think he was solid as always but think Jenkinson did give us something more going forward. Lets see how long Carrolls out for this time... will he ever get a clean bill of health!?

Tonks was full solid; no one beat him. And to his credit he did get forward a bit, but Jenkinson is a more attacking player and that was the right sub by Slaven. All the subs were correct, I think.

6.45 am Sydney time. Took the whole family over to Grandad's to watch on his big screen TV. What a treat. Everyone was talking about Carroll when he made that run and fed Antonio. How big! How Strong! Even the commentators. Grandad said, "He's like that ... and the next minute he'll be over on his ankle and out for six weeks." Not a minute later ... WELL, that changed the complexion of the game, and as Slaven says, "to be fair" Bournemouth should have won it from there. Not that their goal was that good. I bet Adrian wishes he had that back! But they could have gone on to score two more. Second half; wind at our backs; completely different story. West Ham looked composed and were winning possession quite a lot. But Valencia didn't look like scoring, to be honest, and Jelavic wasn't even in the game. The person who really deserves a lot of credit for leading the initial fightback is really Antonio -- such a physical player, he did not get pushed off the ball like Valencia, and with his pace he was causing problems. So Payet realised this and started feeding Antonio, and the rest is history. Antonio drew the foul that led to Payet's sublime free kick, all the more remarkable with the wind factor. I really expected it to blaze over. And then pure brilliance from Dimitri Payet to create the second goal (deservedly the motm), and to be fair to Valencia, when given the chance he made no mistake. And then Valencia's free kick -- WOW! -- it just had Boric flat-footed. So three goals in the second half, an away victory, a great fightback, against a side who were already in form and who have just spent about £20M in two days on attacking players, eight straight unbeaten in the PL, nine in all competitions, plus 3 straight PL wins and 4 in all competitions, and STILL they probably won't give us credit for being a good team. So be it. Roll on Newcastle. And if we get Liverpool away in the cup, then it is finally time for the full measure of revenge. COME ON YOU IRONS!!!
