Why On Earth Would Hammers Sell Pedro Obiang?

'Cash rich' Everton are reportedly sniffing around for Pedro Obiang, apparently they are not alone with AC Milan and Sevilla also interested in luring the combative midfielder and defender to their clubs. Obiang has two years left on his contract following his £4.3 Million transfer from Sampdoria. Initially Obiang found himself more often as a squad player or a bench warmer, but more recently became a permanent fixture in the starting line up. Everton boss Ronald Koeman wants Obiang as a replacement for James McCarthy and to provide support for Idrissa Gueye. 25 year old Obiang is in his prime and although offers in excess of £15 Million have been mooted why on earth would West Ham take the money in order to make a £10 Million profit when they would then have to replace him with an insanely new money player? Make no mistake, player values are going to sky rocket because of all the extra TV money that will be swilling around, finding a player on a par to Obiang would probably cost £25 Million, so once again why sell? It is not as if the club needs the money!
Pedro Obiang finished runner up to Michail Antonio in this season’s Hammer of the Year award and his form did not go unnoticed on Merseyside or in Italy and Obiang’s homeland, but more importantly it did not go unnoticed at The London Stadium by his manger Slaven Billic. - Ed

My heart sank this morning when I read: "WEST HAM REPORTEDLY EYEING MOVE FOR DAMM" -- this is a Mexican "MIDFIELDER" named Jurgen Damm (sic), who plays for Tigres in the Mexican league and is reportedly "one of the fastest dribblers in the world". He's available for £4M or so. Of course, none of that may be true, and even if it is, it could just be West Ham hedging bets, taking a punt for the small change transfer fee. But I've had enough experience the last few years of the way SUGO do business: Iheanacho and Bastuayi are touted to us, we get excited, SUGO sign players on free transfers, loans and cheepies ... like DAMM. Meanwhile, Obiang's value is given as around £15M. A few years ago, that would have been a top striker, but it is the going rate for a solid EPL midfielder now. My opinion, FWIW is that there is no WAY West Ham should sell Obiang, and they should get on with the job of improving the team and not scouring the world for chancers.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nCAqF2NkvpY This is the guy, looks like he can do it in the Mexican league but can he do it in the Prem? He does have pace... A bit off topic but anyone remember that player Kerlon we were linked with because he could bounce the ball on his head from one end of the pitch to the other?
