No game this weekend so following on from an interesting debate last night down the pub,and just for something to do, what would be your world eleven if you had to pick a team today. Your best eleven players in the world. I have a good reason for asking and will tell you why later so that it doesn't influence your answer. My team (and I could pick another easily) would be:- Buffon.
Fabio Cannavaro-Lucio (Lucimar Ferreira da Silva) -Carles Puyol - Dario Dainelli -
Ronaldo - Gerrard - Luka Modric - Ronaldinho -
Van Nistelrooy - Tevez in 4-4-2.

I see the Y!ds have signed Modric for 15 mill. A bargain!
I see you have reverted to childish racism. Jealous? Remember, your Messiah was Jewish! Wonder if he would have supported S***s?
This from the cretin who persistantly refers to our American player as "The Wank" and he calls me childish. I refer you, cretin, to a brilliantly written website http://claretandbluebubbles.blogspot.com/search?updated-max=2007-06-14T2... you will no doubt recognize as my blog, and my entry dated 27th May 2007. It may go someway to explaining why I'm not going to get upset. Keep trying though. You might get there one day.

Not many takers for this one. Reason I asked was I keep hearing that the Premier League is the best in the world. Is it? I don't think most of the best players in the world are playing here and nor do I think it's the best league. Outside of the Premiership clubs are floundering or going to the wall, hardly any young blood comes through the lower divisions and its more or less a yo-yo between the top and bottom of the Prem/Fizzy divisions. We've all got a pretty good idea who's gonna win the league and you could have a pretty safe bet on it being the same 4 next year and the year after. Bit like Scotland really. Greatest League in the world? Oh yeah Wigan versus Reading or Bolton versus Derby. How about Birmingham versus Fulham? Take the top 4 out of it and who's left? Actually forget the top 4 bit because I don't even think Liverpool or Chelsea play that great a game.
I don't know much about a World XI as I am only young but can I put a Premiership one in. GK - Cech RB - Richards CB Vidic & Terry LB Evra Midfield - Ronaldo, Gerrard & Fabregas Up front Berbatov, Tevez & Torres. On the bench Green, Gallas, Bentley,Cahill & Rooney.
gk: casialls, lb: evra, rb: Alves cb: ferdinand & Cannavaro, lm: Messi, rm: ronaldo, cm: kaka & fabregas, st: Rooney & Torres
GK Petr Cech - RB Dani Alves - CB Carlos Puyol - CB Fabio Cannavaro - LB Paolo Maldini - RM Steven Gerrard - CM Cesc Fabregas - LM Cristiano Ronaldo - AM Wayne Rooney - FD Dimitar Berbatov - FD Fernando Torres (1-4-3-1-2 formation)
Interesting to see who's picking Rooney. He's not even the best striker in England at the moment is he?
ah but i'm not playing him upfront, he's playing behind my 2 strikers because he is a creator and not a prolific goaslscorer.
Petr Cech - Zambrotta-RB Evra-LB Terry-CB Puyol-CB RM- Ronaldo LM- Messi CM-Ronaldo CAM- Ronaldinho ST-David Villa/Samuel Eto'o. Undecided :)
