All Hammers fans will be aware of the sad and untimely death of Frank Lampard's wife and Frank Lampard Jnr's mother, Pat from pneumonia. We would like to pass on our condolences to the whole family and wish them all the strength needed to get them through these troubled times. - Ed

Its great to see TRUE West Ham supporters giving the Lampard family the respect they deserve at this tragic time, i as much as anyone hated Frank Jnr for his actions, comments when he left West Ham (mainly because of the treatment of his Father by the club i might add) but you have to admire what he has done at Chelsea, i can't stand his club and everything they stand for and sure it hurts when an ex-hammer does well at another club, but when are all the "Fat Boy" this and "Fat Boy" that brigade going to realise that all that does is make Frank play BETTER when he faces us!!! I'm NOT saying forgive, i'm just saying forget and move on eh! Its going to be tough seeing Rio,Carrick,Tevez,Coley and Lamps playing in the Champions League Final but hopefully our days as a selling club are over and maybe JUST maybe we can get to a European Final sometime in the future, I hope Frank can continue to show what a great player he is as long as its not too many times against us!

Well done Frank lampard. He must have had some courage to have stepped up and taken that penalty and slot it easily into the corner. Did anybody see Frank Snr in the crowd. He looked completely down and he showed no expression at all when his son put the ball in the back of the net. That man is going though something that nobody wants to ever go through.

I too know what it's like to lose my Mum at 29 years of age very similar circumstances suddenly at 55 after 2 weeks in hospital. 15 years later it's easier but things will never be the same again. My thoughts are with you Frank Jr and to iron man Frank Snr. RIP...

Really Sad News. My condolences and sympathy as well to the whole Lampard family. Thanks for the post Nev. Somehow, I missed it in the previous LN posting; now that I look through it, I can see people were already aware. Would it not be appropriate (indeed, honourable) for Hammers to wear a black armband this next match in memory of Mrs Lampard? I think it would be an indication that sport is bigger than the game (and the fans' beautiful posts have already shown this).

To Frank senior - sincere condolences ... we haven't seen much of you since the days of Harry at Upton Park, but you remain a Hammers Legend! To Frank junior - a time to reflect on who you are and where you came from. The respect you continually ask for according to the newspapers, will be aimed at your namesake - hopefully you can be supportive to the Frank that we never stopped loving ! Iron Man since 1974 - come on you IRONS !!!
