This is what I want to see, A bit of positivity from Westham, we were told we were no longer the "Shop Window" for the rest of the Premiership, & from what I`ve read on an ITN site, (Cut&Pasted Below) it seems we DO mean business!!! Let`s wrap Deano up in a lucrative, long term contract so we can stop worrying about who we`re gonna lose this summer, & start getting excited about who we`re gonna buy!!! COYLet`sGiveTheBoysAGreatReceptionTomorrowIrons, . . . . . . .Here`s the artical. . . . . . . . West Ham manager Alan Curbishley is determined to hold on to striker Dean Ashton this summer. Ashton has been linked with a move to Manchester United and Curbishley admits the top clubs in the Premier League will use their spending power to target the best players at other clubs. But he wants Ashton to stay at Upton Park and plans to play him alongside Criag Bellamy next season. Curbishley said: "Every club outside the top four has this problem every summer. Even S***s and people like that are going to come under pressure. "But since the new group took over West Ham we have tried to push forward and I don't see selling players as a way of pushing forward. "I want to see certain combinations of players that I haven't had a chance to see. I want to play Craig Bellamy with Dean Ashton. I am enthusiastic about when we join up again."

Nice one Pete, lets really hope we have turned that corner on selling the cream of this club. Only to watch somebody else getting the advantage from our shortsightedness. UP THE AMMERS!!!

I should hope so too. If we started selling there would be such a huge revolt on the clubs hands. I don't think Curbs would stay for a start. He's a boring old fuddy duddy but despite his inabilities in playing attractive football, he isn't a puppet like Roeder. That comment is probably what all fans expected anyway. Phippsy

Well said Old School, the silly season(with all the rumours and speculation) got the best of everyone before the real season ended we have a match against Villa to win 3-0 to the cockney boys. COYI

More breaking news. . . Curb`s is gonna be with us for the foreseeable, & according to my very well placed sources, (Me mate who sell Veg @ the top of the market) Their`s no point in bleating on anymore!!! We don`t like the style of play he`s adopted, we don`t like the same old tired excuses he comes out with, but he`ll be with us @ least until Jan, he signed a two & a half year deal, I think, & BG doesn`t wanna throw anymore money around, so he`s here, here here here!!! (Also me mate wanted me to point out that he`s doing King Edwards @ 5lb for 55p) COYPay5PercentMore£££ForTheSameAgainIrons

Nice positive post Pete. It has been a mystery why Deano who's contract is up next year hasn't already been tied down to a new deal? It is season ticket renewal time so in keeping with that expect some positive vibes from the club as well as negative media ones because everyone knows it's not sustainable if £52m is shelled out in wages when your turnover if £57m so the club needs to make massive reductions. Eggy tried to do a Peter Ridsdale that's why he had to go!
