Lest We Forget In The Face of Curbishley's Spite...Submitted by hammersfanno1 on 16 May, 2008 - 14:58.
Remember how Curbishley treated Murphy and Konchesky when he fell out with them at Charlton? Well, Anton seems to be his whipping boy now and I, for one, would not be surprised if he sells him this summer. I've already carried the plus 5% win stat for when Anton is in the team on another forum but here is something else to remember. Liverpool at home 1-0 win. Man Utd at home 2-1 win (Neill to blame for the goal). Arsenal away (last season) 1-0 win. Man Utd at home (last season) 1-0 win. Man Utd away (last season) 1-0 win. Newcastle away (first season back) 0-0 draw when we were down to 10 men after Onecap's sending off. Who played in the centre of defence in ALL those games? Step forward Anton Ferdinand. Sure, Dave will trot out some 0-4 defeats but I contend that it would have been impossible to get all those results if Ferdinand really is the liability that Dave and Curbishley would have us believe.
( categories: Current Season )
He also mentioned Tomkins
He also mentioned Tomkins mistake for Evertons goal, and Newcastles too. There is a difference between being spiteful and making an observation. You failed to mention the praise he gave Anton in the following game. Now if we really want to talk about spite, how about your personal vendetta against our manager which is, at times, spiteful and often bordering on the obsessive.

Yes that was helpful when he criticised Tomkins wasn't it? Tell me, why didn't we hear any criticism of Neill all season? Penalty against Birmingham? Three goals against Newcastle? Out of position for United's goal at UP? Lost possession for Arsenal's first goal at Emirates, nowhere to be seen when they scored their second, sitting on his arse as Ronaldo scored his first at Old Trafford...I could go on but I've logged them elsewhere. So a kid cocks up and the manager highlights it; the captain cocks up repeatedly and Turds says not a word. How would you feel if you were Tomkins or Ferdinand?
Unless you saw an interview I don't know about, every time Curbs mentioned Tomkins he said he was pleased with his performance, especially how much he "matured" after the mistakes he had made. Are you suggesting that we should pretend nobody saw any mistakes and it was a perfect game?
No Steve, I'm asking why Neill's mistakes have not been highlighted by Curbishley but Ferdnand's have. The closest Turds came to criticising Neill was after the cup game against City at UP, and he gave an excuse for him, he was "feeling his hamstring". The fact he was having a wank in six or so other matches did not merit comment!
Don't forget his personal vendetta against Green and Louis Boa Morte and Lucas Neill and McCartney and and Carlton Cole and Spector and Dyer. Oh well. He likes Anton and I suspect that is only cos I don't.
LOL are we talking Curbishley or me? I like Ferdinand because he is young and talented and a product of the West Ham Academy. I have held my hands up and said I was wrong about The Beatle and Cole, although neither would get in a top team. I defend The Wank and say I would pick him ahead of Neill. I maintain that Dyer was a bad signing because of his fitness record. And as for Green, well I say it as it is. Great shot stopper, poor under crosses, poor distribution, not an England keeper - yet. LBM? Yep, I think the guy is crap. Anyway Dave, I quote about Curbishley, "the guy can't build sand castles, never mind a team" - your words, not mine. I agree with a lot of what you say as it happens, I'm your bete noir, not the other way around. You are wrong about Ferdinand though, as the stats show!
Ha ha, I was wondering how long it would take you to bring Curbs into it Fanno! It might be worth reminding you that this is speculation from the papers, but don't let that stop the two of you, I'm enjoying the debate!
Kinda reminds me of Rocky v Apollo Creed first time round... You're giving Dave some knockout stats but he just keeps coming back at you...
Don't forget the 6-0 defeat to Reading.
I haven't Dave. I also haven't forgotten that Green was dropped after that game. Nor have I forgotten that Dailly was playing, as he was when we lost 0-4 at Bolton and when we drew 3-3 at home to Fulham. Funnily enough, Ferdinand was NOT in the team in those games. And yes he was playing when we lost 0-4 at Charlton - alongside Davenport! You really are desperate to put the blame at Anton's door aren't you, even when the evidence contradicts you!
Are we talking the Reading game? Did Ferdinand score an own goal, I've kind of wiped the game from my memory. I know Turds turned on Yossi and Yossi in turn blamed the whole team including himself and Turds then dropped Green. I'm not blaming any of the players, I'm blaming Curbishley. And he blamed Green because he dropped him, not me!
Excellent result against the Arse. England class (if not World Class ) goalkeeping display from our resident Goalkeeper, I give you Rob Green. Liverpool? ninety third or fourth minute penalty wasn't it? Man Utd? Ronaldo missed a penalty, Tevez was overwhelmed, Rooney didn't play. What about Newcastle? Lost away, drew at home.
Keep up, I mention the Newcastle game above, the one we drew 0-0 after Onecap was sent off! You missed that bus too! And Dave, we kept a clean sheet in all those games except for a brilliant Ronaldo goal after a Neill error. Yes Green played a blinder away to Arsenal but he didn't have to in the other games! Why? The centre of the defence did its job brilliantly. The one common factor? Anton.

Anton Ferdinand has joined Roy Keane's Sunderland on a four year deal, he will be nearer to his brother and further away from temptation apparently.Who's onlineThere are currently 7 users and 53 guests online.
