DeanoSubmitted by davefking on 17 May, 2008 - 12:12.
It's Saturday now and the talks with Deano were supposed to have been held yesterday. Nothing on the OS and my paper is all about the FA Cup. So anyone know whats happened? I gotta say that OS is crap.

With season tickets soon to
With season tickets soon to be renewed, The chairman will be looking for something for the fans to get behind and spend there hard earned dosh. The offical line given is we wont be buying big, and will keep anyone we REALLY want. With this in mind ashtons contract talks look a nailed on certainty, unless Deano holds us over a barrel. Deano strikes me as alot more trustworthy than most of our other so called ex-players. So if we still havent heard about it by the end of next week then i will begin to wonder. NOT before. Of course the board have made it well known that they were talking to Ashton on FRIDAY so they will know we all will be watching this space before we renew! If they dont tie this up quickly then the board will be making a rod for their own back somewhat!

Sometimes I wonder how some of you can even get outa bed with your pessimistic attitudes! Some of you are getting well to far ahead with your "its bad news" assumptions over Deanos new contract! If you thought about it with any degree of logic you would realise hardly any contracts are agreed at this level on the first meeting! Someone mentioned if he plays for England, well im sure these are all extras that need to be concluded, along with European possibilites etc etc. Yes I would loved to have heard he had signed last night but in all reality give yourselves a rest
So there was NO discussion before hand? No contract on the table in advance? No decision of margin of tolerance on negotiation made by the club? He is our best player and other clubs want him. What the f8ck is the club or Ashton playing at? Yes he might still sign but the chances he won't increased enormously when the meeting ended without his name on the contract. If you were intending to sign, would you not want your pay rise today rather than next week? Especially if the increase for that week would buy you a brand new Porsche!
Put it this way Fanno Wes brown took about 4 months to agree HIS terms with Manure so if it takes a week to cross T's and dot I's i wont be worried. I certainly feel its far too soon to worry but we would ALL like things to be signed on the same day of asking wouldnt we.
contract negotiations wont be completed in a day, some take all summer. im more than certain deano will be wearing claret and blue next season, banging in goals for fun. he owes us a huge debt for gambling 7 million on him, we no it so does he.
Wake up mate, footballers don't give a f8ck about any of that. He is a Man Utd fan. He is wanted by United. He could be playing Champions League football next season. I can hear him now, "But I owe it to West ham to stay. I mean Alan Curbishley's preferred style of play doesn't suit me but I owe it to those fans who called me a lard arse when I was struggling with my fitness." I hope I'm wrong but I would put my money on him leaving before I put it on him staying. Ashton to United, Saha in return plus 10 million, Bent signed from Tottenham for £10 million plus Freddie L going the other way. Watch this space!
Joining up with England next week. Wages will increase if he is picked and plays well. United will be watching. Rio and Carrick will tell him how much better it is at Old Trafford than Upton Park. Saha has said he expects to leave United. It is all adding up to very bad news indeed. £10m plus Saha is my guess. Turds will say, "It's a great deal for West Ham, we've made a profit on our investment and got a proven international striker on top. I'm looking forward to teaming Saha and Bellamy in the treatment room!" God I hope I'm wrong!
No news is good news! right?
Deano's agent has probably told him to mull over any offer. I hope and expect him to sign by next Friday
No clue. Just checked every source i have. All empty. could it be bad news?
