Kevin DoyleSubmitted by Rob Green on 29 June, 2008 - 07:33.
We have been linked with him today in the Sunday Mirror, for 7.5 million pounds. Right i think he is a worthwile guy, but for that money surely Nani could help us bring in someone else. What is everyone elses thoughts?

I certainly hope not.Well not for that money. This is a Curbs sort of player,5-6 goals a season! My concern is the fact that Nani is supposed to be responsible for buying the players. But knowing Curbishley as we do,he will not play them!
I agree with hammerhead. We already have big forwards who hold up the ball and score a few goals. I can't understand why we aren't getting smaller quicker guys. Once Bellamy got injured we were stuffed for variation up front, playing long ball to the big guys. Let's have a forward who can take people on and skin a couple of guys. When we got Tevez, I thought we finally had the answer. Phippsy
My thoughts? Kevin Doyle - £7.5 mill? Well do i have to spell it out then? Ok its clearly cack as Doyle wont be going to ANYONE for that price!!
I think the papers come up with someone we might be interested in signing, then come up with a ridiculous amount they think we'd pay,and put them both together. We wouldn't sign Doyle, never in a million years.I mean, what the hell would he bring to the team that's any different to what we've already got?
Are you sure Giga? He plays for Reading, how the feck can he be class playing for a tin pot outfit like that?!
So on that basis no good player can play for a poor team? At one point Alan Devonshire played for Southall, David Platt played for Crewe, Ian Rush played for Chester, Kevin Keegan played for Scunthorpe....all crap I suppose because they played for 'tinpot little outfits'? Personally, I quite like Doyle - good player, solid, hardworking, decent technique...worth 7.5m? Absolutely not but if he was available for 3-4m, it might be worth a go. He'll probably go to O'Sunderland anyway as all Irish people are contractually obliged to go there!

Anton Ferdinand has joined Roy Keane's Sunderland on a four year deal, he will be nearer to his brother and further away from temptation apparently.Who's onlineThere are currently 1 user and 7 guests online.
