For all those who worry...Submitted by Hayden on 16 July, 2008 - 22:53.
For those of us who read tribal football all day and face a rollercoaster of emotions from the second they wake up.. "we're signing Pirlo?! Nigel Quashie has signed a new contract?! Mark Noble is going to Millwall?!" -- Here is an example of the media and it's accuracy - "West Ham's Icelandic owners are said to be under financial pressure from the bank, with keeper Robert Green, who is yet to agree a new deal, Craig Bellamy, Lucas Neill, Anton Ferdinand and Scott Parker all on the list of possible departures." ---- BG's businesses made some hefty profit last year, so why pressure from the bank? If there stories are loosely based on fact it should read more like "BG's made a lot of money, so Curbs has 400 million pounds to spend on a few more over the hill players" --- Rob Green has always said he's happy here, just been voted HOTY, loving it... not earning as much as everyone else... he will. We probably haven't gotten round to contract talks as we are involved in transfers. When we entered into talks with Deano the club let us know. --- Bellars, has said he's really happy here and wants to see out his contract for years... yet a few days later he's leaving? --- Scott Parker?! - the inspiration behind this post...... what kind of lazy, moronic journalism is this? When has Parker EVER been linked with a move away? As far as everyone is aware he is happy here and it seems the fans LOVE him... I'd like to know the source of that one. --- Neill.. fair enough a lot want him to go, but when Fulham made an official approach for Bobby and Johnny Pants the club let us know. If there was an approach for our captain and the club WANTED to sell him then surely they'd release a statement? I think he probably will go - but the stories hold no weight. --- Ferdinand, I know fans are split. I personally think he's a GREAT prosepect but again, if we agreed a bid and he HAS been talking to Newcastle why hasn't the club said if they did about Bobby and Johnny? --- Seems a little odd to me... I personally think that where possible the club is usually up front with most stuff recently... It's almost as if the media make this stuff up!

Very Very good post Hayden -
Very Very good post Hayden - Keeping it real, unlike those pessimistic down-casts who post their opinion or how they are feeling personally, as fact

The media making stuff up and people actually swallowing it, no I can't believe that!! Great post Hayden
That's the best post I have read all summer long. It gets a bit crazy around here.
I have always adopted that attitude Hayden, there seems to be too many windowlickers around that believe anything no matter how many times its explained! i LOVE football rumours website because its even worse than Tribal! It makes me laugh like a drain! Denighammer has a good point. Lets have a standard drafted reply, short and to the point that we can post on here everytime A "tribal football" lover comes on!
Good stuff Hayden - perhaps you can shorten it slightly so as you can cut and paste next time someone comes on here yelling "WHEN ARE WE EVER GONNA SIGN ANYONE, WE'RE SURE TO BE RELEGATED INTO THE CONFERENCE...WON'T SOMEONE PLEASE THINK OF THE CHILDREN!!"
Ah The Voice Of Sanity!!! Every word you`ve written is true, but. . . we`ve been let down, swindled, shiit on & generally bent over & shafted so often in the past that we ALWAYS fear the worst, it soften `s the blow if we expect the worst!!! You are right in what you`re saying though Hayden, the media is built on speculation, it sells papers & you can`t believe all you read, I read a great story the other day about Ronaldinho going to Citeh, I Mean C`mon, that one has "Tribal" written all over it!!!
