Pathetic Blades fansSubmitted by Denbighammer on 7 August, 2008 - 19:06.
Anyone watching the England v Germany 'Legends' match on ITV4? The Blades supporters are actually booing EVERY touch Bryan Robson has. Ok, he wasn't a huge success there as manager but f*uck me, he was England captain for years and he deserves better. Would West Ham fans give, say Glenn Roeder that kind of stick if he turned out in a charity match at Upton Park?

What sort of reception would
What sort of reception would Ince get Den? Red Stripe Robbo was a great England player but, as a manager, is a dead loss. He replaced a true legend at the Blunted Blades and came up short. The memory is fresh, the wound is still open, and I am not surprised they gave the guy stick.

Ince is totally different, he left us in totally acrimonious circumstances - Robson was just a poor manager he never did anything terrible like Ince. Also, Warnock resigned his job - someone had to replace him didn't they? My point is the game was for CHARITY and it was England v Germany - surely worth setting aside a minor club annoyance?
Warnock was honourable. He took the Blades down and admitted he was culpable. That wasn't easy for a guy with such a big ego. Can't imagine Curbishley doing that! Red Stripe, on the other hand, was willing to negotiate for a position as youth team coach, such was his desperate need for cash to meet his bar bill, allegedly. Truth is, Red Stripe was a great player but is a shabby man. Ask Nicky Barnby, whose wife he allegedly bedded whilst managing Boro.
That's completely true Fanno. When somebody like Warnock goes, a man who has fire in his belly, and is replaced by a sulky bloke who gives the impression he doesn't want to be there then your gonna be a bit resentful. Warnock is a pratt but to be fair he's a pratt you'd want on your side. As a manager Robson is nothing. Phippsy
haha i think u chose a bad example mate, coz i would boo roeder, especially after his exploits the season before last when we played the bar codes at upton park, deliberately trying to wind up our fans, and we had 30,000 singing 'your the reason we went down' and most of the centenary lower singing 'have a stroke and fu**ing die' i think roeder would get booed lol
